Run 47 - Last run of Season 3

Congratulations -who? Well I can't tell you. The winner shall remain a secret until Presentation Day, 8:00am Saturday 8th January 2011 at the Stiggant's Reserve electric bbqs.

There was only 1 personal best run today, and that was by the birthday boy!
Alex - 60 seconds.

Welcome to our new runner, Steve, it's always great to see new runners.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in Warrandyte River Runners during 2011. I have really enjoyed myself and hope you all have too. I wish you and your families a very safe and happy Christmas and I look forward to seeing you all in 2011.

Season 4 will kick off at 7:30am on Saturday 8th January 2011. This will be followed by the breakfast presentation event by the start line at Stiggants Reserve electric bbqs at about 8:00am. RSVP to wrrunners@gmail.com if you can make it.

I hope you can make it and I'll see you down by the hut.

Last Run of 2010

This Sunday, 19th December, will be the last run for Warrandyte River Runners for 2010.

As it is the last run of the season we will have a mass start. This means that everyone starts at the same time and no one will know who has won until presentation day - date to be confirmed.

So you must be down by the hut ready to start running at 8:00am sharp.

We will have a short break then re-commence for 2011 on Saturday 8th January.

See you down by the hut.

Run 46

Congratulations, Luke! Although Luke was 5th across the line, he was the first runner to cross after 30 minutes, with a PB, so he has taken out the maximum 20 points. Well done.

With Peter held up in Sydney, Lincoln has shot to top position with a 2 point lead. Luke is also snapping at Lincoln and Peter's heels and any of these 3 could take out the much coveted Warrandyte River Runners mega trophy.

There must have been perfect conditions today - everyone ran really well with 6 PB's recorded;
Bianca - 41 seconds
Lincoln - 37 seconds
Alan - 24 seconds
Jodi - 19 seconds
Luke - 12 seconds
Janette - 8 seconds

Welcome to Claire, who sprinted to the finish line and just pipped Owen at the post.

Next weekend is the final run of Season 3 and due to the extra Christmas Market being held on Saturday, we will run on Sunday 19th December at 8:00am.

See you down by the hut.

New Runners - always welcome and you can start at any point during the season.

Run 45

Congratulations Rob! This week Rob recorded a PB which made him the first runner after the 30 minute mark, with Lincoln only just 2 seconds behind.

Everyone is busy with their Christmas functions so I hope you are still finding time to run.

There were 2 PB's recorded this week;
Lincoln - 7 seconds
Rob - 2 seconds

There are only 2 runs left in the season and it is a race to the top between Lincoln and Peter, with only a 3 point gap.

Next week's run is on Saturday 11th December at 7:30am.

See you down by the hut.

Jodi

This week's winner of the socks - Lincoln.

NEW RUNNERS - always welcome and you can start any time during the season.

Run 44

Congratulations Lincoln! Lincoln was first to cross the line after the 30 minute mark today, with the only PB of the day, so he has taken out the maximum 20 points. Fantastic running. This means Lincoln has surged into second place and with 3 runs remaining in the season, who will take out the trophy?

With fewer runner's it's easier to pick up some extra points as we get to the business end of the season.

The track was a bit wet and muddy today which might explain the fact that we saw only 1 PB. This week's PB's;
Lincoln - 2 seconds

Next week is market weekend so the run will be on Sunday 5th December @ 8:00am.

See you down by the hut.

Jodi

This week's winner of the socks: Alan - again!

Saturday, November 20, 2010

Run 43

Congratulations, Janette. Janette was first across the line after the 30 minute mark today, with a PB so she has taken out the maximum 20 points. Well done.

Lincoln ran so well that he broke by 10 seconds! Great running, and always improving.

Next week we are going to trial a 4km option. Normally if you go up a distance (eg. from 3km to 5km) then go back down, you can only get 1 point on the shorter distance for the remainder of that season. However for the 4km trial, you can give it a go (just for run 44), then go back down without penalty. So if you are currently running 3km and would like to give the 4km a go, next week is the week to do it.

PB's this week....
Janette - 31 seconds
Rob - 9 seconds
Peter - 3 seconds
Lincoln - equal.

Next week's run is on Saturday 27th November at 7.30am.

See you down by the hut.

Jodi

This week's winner of the socks - Rob

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Run 42

Congratulations Reuben! Even a dislocated shoulder doesn't stop Reuben who was first across the line today taking out 17 points.

Well done to everyone for showing up on such a rainy morning. It was very humid but there is something nice about running in the rain.

With the wet conditions we saw 3 PB's run today, and one equal PB.
Martin - 43 seconds
Lincoln - 20 seconds
Alan - 4 seconds
Rob - equal

Lincoln has done his 6 runs now and has received a lift so he will be the one to watch next week.

Congratulations to Alan and Janette on their effort at the Marysville marathon last weekend. And good luck to Dennis in his 50km Docklands to Donvale next weekend.

Next week's run is on Saturday 20th November at 7:30am.

See you down by the hut.

Run 41

Congratulations, Peter. Peter has surged to the top of the leader board by winning River Runners today with a PB, taking out the maximum 20 points. It was a neck and neck finish with Lincoln smashing his PB and finishing hot on Peter's heels.

Conditions were great for running today and there were 4 new PB's recorded.

Lincoln - 41 seconds
Peter - 20 seconds
Rob - 11 seconds
Cath - 2 seconds

See you down by the hut.

Run 40

Congratulations Peter! Peter managed to cross the line first and within 5 seconds of his PB so he has picked up 18 points, surging into 3rd place on the consistency ladder.

With Olie a no-show (allegedly camping) and Luke taking out 3rd place (within 15 seconds of his PB), these two are now tied 1st place. Peter is hot on your heels guys - only 2 points the difference.

Conditions must have been fabulous for running today with 1 PB and everyone else within 15 seconds of theirs. Well done everyone.

PB's this week:
Lincoln - 13 seconds

Next week is market weekend so the run will be on Sunday 7th November at 8:00am.

I hope you can make it and I'll see you down by the hut.

Jodi

Winner of the socks this week - Luke.

Run 40 - weather update

We shall press on this morning! The forecast is only for patchy rain and it is currently 18.8 degrees so we will be fine.

See you down by the hut at 7:30am.

Jodi

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Run 39

Congratulations, Luke. Luke managed to cross the line first today within 2 seconds of his PB so he picked up 18 points. That puts him 2nd on the Consistency Ladder with a bullet. 40 points from 4 runs makes Luke the one to watch.

Olie has managed 46 points from 5 runs so he is also doing extremely well. It looks like we are going to have a battle of the blokes for top position this season. Come on girls!

The weather was much kinder to us this morning and we managed to stay dry. There were 2 PB's recorded today and a further 4 runners were within 15 seconds of their PB's so it was great running by everybody.

This week's PB's;
Alan - 18 seconds
Owen - 5 seconds

Next week's run is on Saturday 30th October at 7:30am.

See you down by the hut!

Jodi

This week's winner of the socks - Lou

Run 39

A washout! The first washout in the history of Warrandyte River Runners.

With approximately 40mm of rain in the past 24 hours and a downpour of hail at start time, I found myself sitting on my own in the car at the Stiggants car park.

Then through the mist came Alan, running down to the start line despite the less than perfect conditions.

Alas, as Alan was the only brave soul ready to run, I declared a washout.

It is great to see so much rain to have our water storages prepared for summer, but it would be nice to have a break in the weather at run time!

So next week's run is on Saturday 23rd October at 7.30am.

See you down by the hut.

Jodi

Run 38

Congratulations Owen! It looks like Owen is back in form for Season 3 and took out his first win today taking out 17 points. Well done.

It was a beautiful morning for a run or walk today. Once again, thank you to our walkers for coming out and joining us on these perfect spring mornings.

There were only 2 pb's run today and 2 within cooee, I think we are all still getting used to the new daylight savings time.

This week's PB's were...
Janette - 1 min, 32 seconds - smashed it!
Bianca - 2 seconds

I wish all the best to those running the marathon tomorrow and I look forward to hearing all about it.

Next week's run is on Saturday 16th October at 7:30am.

I hope you can make it and I'll see you down by the hut.

Jodi

Winner of the socks this week is Alan.

Run 37

Congratulations Leo! After a long stint away from River Runners, Leo made a tremendous come back and secured the win crossing the line at 30:01, with a PB and taking out a maximum 20 points. Well done.

It felt pretty early due to the clocks going forward an hour but we did manage to get a few people out on the track.

Welcome to Carmelita - I hope you enjoyed the run and can join us again.

Only 2 PB's were recorded this week and we have Anthony & Meghann in full on training mode for the upcoming marathon. Good luck guys and I hope the marathon goes well.

This weeks PB's;
Leo - 59 seconds
Murray - 30 seconds.

Next week's run is on Saturday 9th October at 7:30am.

See you down by the hut.

Congratulations Luke! Luke managed to be first across the line after the 30 minute mark - well done.

A big thank you to Rob for running the show for me while the kids, the dog and I were away.

This week we saw 3 people break their PB and another 4 incredibly close to theirs.

PB's
Jenny - 2 min 51 sec - smashed it!

Run 35

Congratulations, Doug! Today Doug has taken out maximum points by running a PB and crossing the line at 30:01. Well done!

Peter, Lincoln and Alan were all on fire this morning and ran so well that they all broke.

It was a close finish with 4 people crossing the line within 7 seconds!

We had a record number of runners today - 21 people ran and a further 5 people walked which is a River Runenrs PB. Our previous record is 20 runners. So thanks to everyone for getting out there and giving it a go.

There were also 7 PB's recorded on the track today, one equal PB and a further 2 people within 15 seconds of their PB. We also welcomed Murray to River Runners.

Today's PB's were....
Lincoln - 1 minute 5 seconds (amazing!)
Alan - 49 seconds
Doug - 18 seconds
Olie - 10 seconds
Rob - 9 seconds
Lou - 5 seconds
Anthony - 1 second

Meghann equalled her PB while Peter and Martin ran within 15 seconds of theirs.

So well done to everyone and I hope you have a great week.

Next weeks run is Saturday 25th September @ 7:30am.

Season 2 Presentation Day

Thank you to everyone who came to the Season 2 presentation day on Sunday, including Phoenix who looks just a little bored.
The weather was kind to us and we all enjoyed some cheese, a few sausages and rhubarb cake!

A big congratulations to both Owen and Sam who took out the trophies for Season 2. It makes it all worthwhile to see the kids so proud of themselves for regularly getting out early on Saturday mornings and running.

Well done to everyone who has managed to make it out on the track over the cold and often muddy winter months to have a run.

I also want to thank Rob for his help to keep Warrandyte River Runners going. Rob is definitely the brains behind the operation and sorts out all the technical handicap issues. Putting all the results together and getting them published can sometimes be challenging.

Now Season 3 has to be the season for the adults. Maybe with Olie's outstanding start to the season it will be his turn to host the mega trophy.
You have to be in it to win it!
See you down by the hut on Saturday 18th September at 7:30am.

Run 34

Congratulations Olie - again! This is the second week in a row that Olie has crossed the line first after the 30 minute mark and today he also ran a PB. This means maximum points have been added to the table for Olie. He is streaking to the lead for this season's consistency award.

Another big well done to Anthony and Alex, both running PB's and breaking.

Everyone ran well today and we saw a few new PB's and a few people running very close to their PB's.

This week's PB's;
Alex - 1min 6secs - amazing!
Anthony - 36 secs
Rob - 22secs
Olie - 19 secs
Jodi - 18 secs

Within 15 seconds of their PB;
Bianca, Owen & Cath

Next week's run is on Saturday 18th September at 7:30am.

Run 33 - First run of Season 3

Congratulations, Olie! It would seem that wearing a new running shirt helps see you cross the line first. So to all those Dad's who got new running shirts today, make sure you wear them next week.

Happy Father's Day to all the dad's and I hope everyone had a great day.

Most of us must have been thinking about the celebrations of the day and we saw only one PB today - well done, Alex. He doesn't run often, but made the most of today (without his brother there) running a PB and coming in second.

Next week's run is Saturday 11th September at 7:30am.

If you can make it to presentation day on Sunday at midday, please send me an email to let me know how many you have coming. We will have a sausage sizzle at the electric bbq's and present the trophies.

This weeks PB:
Alex - 10 seconds.

I hope you can make the run next week and I'll see you down by the hut.

Run 32 - Last run of season 2

Well the last run of Warrandyte River Runner's second season has been run and won on this drizzly, almost end of winter, morning. But by whom? Who will take out the coveted overall trophy? Who will take out the kids trophy? And who will win the medals?

Well, this has to remain a closely guarded secret until presentation day. Speaking of presentation day - this will be held at the electric bbq's down by the start line at 12:oopm on Sunday 12th September, 2010.

Please rsvp by emailing me by Wednesday 8th September.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our runners for making the winter season an enjoyable one. We have had some very cold mornings and managed to fluke only a few wet ones, and still you made it out onto the track.

And a big thank you to Peter for coming out and time keeping again. It's great to see you back and I hope you will be well enough to kick off Season 3.

Season 3 commences next week! If you haven't run for a while, why not take the opportunity to get ready for summer (where has the year gone?) and get back into running. Start getting points on the board from the first run of the season.

Next week's run is on Sunday 5th October at 8:00am.

PB's this week;
Martin - 49 seconds
Lou - 41 seconds
Alan - 40 seconds
Rob - 11 seconds
Cath - 8 seconds

I hope you can make it and I'll see you down by the hut!

Run 31

Congratulations, Reuben! There were 4 breakers today which meant that Reuben was fifth across the line but still took out the win. Well run.

Today saw 3 new PB's run and 2 within 15 seconds of their PB. It was fresh this morning and thankfully the wind had died down for us. We even timed the raid perfectly - when the last runner had come in, down came the rain. Unfortunately not so well timed for the walkers - they did get an extra shower in this morning!

Don't forget that next week is the last run of the season so it will be a mass start. This means that all runners will start together at 7:30am. So be on time or you will miss the start. No times will be adjusted for late comers.

This weeks PB's;
Anthony - 46 seconds
Nicole - 24 seconds
Owen - 5 seconds

I look forward to next week's mass start where the winner will remain a mystery until presentation day. Details of presentation will be out shortly.

So I'll see you down by the hut next Saturday 28th August at 7:30am sharp.

Run 30

Congratulations, Craig! We welcomed Craig and Jasper back to the River Runners crew this morning and Craig took out the win with a maximum 20 points! Well done.

We also welcomed Alan and Janette this morning who have inspired us all with their talk of their upcoming event - running around Australia! You can read all about their planned adventure at www.kiwienergyunlimited.com .

Another upcoming event that you may be interested in, not quite as huge, is the Run for the Firies in Eltham on 12th September. There is a 4km or 10km run with very reasonable entry prices that will help raise money for the Research and Kangaroo Ground fire brigades. Find the details at www.runforthefiries.com .

Well done to everyone, it's great to see people out running, walking, chatting and enjoying themselves. I think it's a fantastic way to start the weekend.

PB's today....
Lincoln - 1min 34 secs
Jodi - 1 min 10 secs
Craig - 32 secs
Owen - 9 secs
Anthony - 4 secs

Welcome to our two new runners - it's always great to see some new faces and we hope to see you again next week.

Run 28

Congratulations, Sam! Sam was first across the line today after the 30 minute mark and secured 18 points. Great run.

Cooper is up for a major handicap adjustment after a massive break today. He's just too quick.

Welcome to our new runners - it's always great to see some new faces - I hope you enjoyed yourselves on our very picturesque river track.

And it's also always great to have our walkers come along, enjoying the surroundings and supporting their family. It's a great way to start the weekend.

We saw heaps of PB's today so I thought it was worth listing them....

Cooper - 5:04 mins - outstanding!
Lisa - 1:22 mins
Meghann - 19 secs
Cath - 13 secs
Rob - 11 secs
Anthony - 6 secs
Daniel - 3 secs
Owen - 2 secs

Next week is market weekend so we will be running Sunday 8th August at 8:00am. Remember the later start time!

I hope you can make it and I'll see you down by the hut.

Jodi

This weeks winner of the socks: Owen. What is it with number 5?

Saturday, July 24, 2010

Run 27

Congratulations Owen! Owen has secured yet another 20 points by crossing the line first after the 30 minute mark with a personal best time. But he has now done his 10 runs and only your best 10 runs count. He can still be caught!

A big welcome to our new runners. You will now have a handicap for your next run! You will be surprised at how quickly your times improve.

There are 5 runs left in the season so there is still time to secure more points.

Next week's run will be Saturday 31st July at 7:30am.

See you down by the hut.

Jodi

This weeks winner of the socks: Anthony.

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Run 26

Congratulations Nicole! This morning was Nicole's turn to take out a win. She picked up 18 points with a fantastic race to the finish with Bianca hot on her heels. This has moved her up 11 places in the consistency table, neck and neck with Bianca. Well done!

There are only 6 runs left in this season. Remember that only your best 10 runs count towards your consistency total. So if you haven't reached your 10 runs yet for this season, get back into the competition by getting some more runs in.

We wish a speedy race to all those participating in the Run Melbourne event this weekend. And also wish Larry all the best and hope he makes a speedy recovery from a recent injury.

Next week's run is on Saturday 24th July at 7:30am.

See you down by the hut.

Run 25

Congratulations, Anthony! This week saw Anthony take out the maximum (20) points by crossing the line first after the 30 minute mark with a personal best time. Well done!

No breakers this week and pb's were run by our top 3 place getters - the wind obviously didn't have a negative effect on their runs.

Welcome to 3 new runners today - 2 from interstate and 1 of the 4-legged variety.

A big thank you to Peter for doing the timekeeping again today while he is injured - much appreciated.

Also, I thought it was worth mentioning the very dedicated Churchward family who make the effort to come out each week and go for a walk while Dad runs, and wins.

I hope to see you all next Saturday, 17th July, at 7:30am, down by the hut.

Have a good week. Jodi

This week's socks winner - Meghann

Sunday, July 4, 2010

Run 24

Congratulations to Reuben! This week saw Reuben cross the line 4th overall but with 3 breakers he secured maximum points (20) by being the 1st to cross after the 30 minute mark with a new PB. Well done!

Owen has his work cut out for him to maintain top position. He has a lead of 22 points but that can easily be taken away.

A big thank you to Peter for helping out with the time keeping and I hope you're back to match fit ready for next week's run on Saturday, 10th July at 7:30am.

Remember, all runners of any age or ability are welcome, and you can even bring your dog!

For those of you we haven't seen in a while, maybe it's time to get back into the weekly running habit. For $1 a week you can burn off those winter warmer foods (well, some of them) that we all like to indulge in over these colder months.

So I'll see you next week down by the hut!

Jodi

Run 23

Congratulations, Rob! Rob picked up maximum points (20) this week by crossing the line first after the 30 minute mark with a personal best time. Bad luck, Reuben - you just went a little bit too fast.

It was a cold morning but not as muddy as you would expect after all the rain we've had.

Next weekend is Market weekend so we will be running on Sunday, 4th July at the sleep in time of 8:00am.

I hope you can make it - see you by the hut!

Jodi

Run 22

Congratulations, Peter! Peter managed to cross the line first after the 30 minute mark within 15 seconds of his PB so he picked up 18 points - well done.

There were only a few die hards this morning so it was a good chance for us to pick up some easy points.

Peter has made a charge for the top of the ladder. Owen will have to stop going to parties and defend his position next week.

Socks went to Peter this week - it's your lucky week, Pete, buy a tatts ticket!

So come along next week and I'll see you by the hut.

Jodi

Saturday, June 12, 2010

We thought this week would be a little quiet being the public holiday, but thankyou to all those that showed up potentially looking for some easy points.

Owen took out the win today and Cath took out the random socks prize. Congratulations.

With only 7 runs into the season there is still plenty of time to catch Owen. He has been on top for a few weeks and appears to have a commanding lead with another win this week. Remember though that it is only your best 10 runs that are counted, with any number of runners well in contention. We are not half way yet.

Well done to a number of runners achieving PBs this week. Sam taking a huge 1 minute and 5 seconds off his previous PB, Owen 22 seconds, Peter 6 seconds and Cath a further 2 seconds.

Remember you have to be in it to be a contender. The next run is Saturday the 19th at 7:30am. See you all then.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

Well done Jenny on a great win. With the cheering of the kids from the finish line Jen was able to hold off Olie for a well deserved win.

It was a bit of a wet morning, however the rain held off until everyone finished the run. Both Cath and Alex broke well under the finish time of 30 minutes and new PBs as they pushed each other to the finish line. Unfortunately their handcaps will reflect the new times next week.

Congratulations to Anthony and Reuben who will receive a handicap lift next week as they have completed the first 6 runs over the same distance. Along with Anne Marie they ran the 10k run last weekend at Williamstown. Great achievement.

Next week is the long weekend, however the race will still be run on Saturday at 7:30am.

Socks - Olie, again!!!

Run 19 - correction

My apologies, Narelle.

I made an error in my haste to get the results out yesterday before my course. Narelle actually joined us late and I had to adjust her starting time so I have now updated the run results.

Fortunately it didn't effect the Consistency Points Table so that remains unchanged.

Don't forget next weeks run is Sunday at 8:00am because it is market weekend.

Have a great week.

Jodi

Run 19

Congratulations, Owen! This morning's wet and muddy run was obviously prime conditions for Owen who managed to cross the line first within 15 seconds of his PB (6 seconds to be exact). This gave him 18 points for the run - so close to maximum points.

Well done to everyone else who ventured out this morning - at least it wasn't as cold as last week! We saw 2 PB's run this week and 6 people running very close to their PB.

Next weekend is market weekend, so the run will be held on Sunday at 8:00am.

I won't actually be there next week but Rob will look after you and do a fantastic job of timekeeping and putting together the results.

Run 18

Congratulations, Larry. Larry was the first to cross the line after the 30 minute mark, although because he stepped back to the 3km distance he is not eligible for the additional points.

During the course of the season you can increase the distance you run but if you go back to a lesser distance, you can only get the 1 point for finishing. This is to prevent people from playing the points system - we know how much that beautiful trophy is coveted.

Welcome to our new runner, Kristi. Now that she has had her first run we will make sure her handicap is allocated to make it challenging for next week.

It was extremely cold this morning and I recommend you bring along a hat, gloves and possibly long sleeves if we have similar conditions next week. There were lots of cold hands and noses today. I had ice on my windscreen this morning!

So I will see you next Saturday at 7:30am, down by the hut.

Jodi

Run 17

Congratulations, Luke! Luke has finally had his turn at taking out a win with a personal best landing him the maximum 20 points. So he has knocked Margaret off 1st place by 1 point.

It was a lovely mild morning down by the river this morning and it was great to see everyone running good times - 7 people ran a personal best, and 5 others came very close to theirs.

See you next Saturday 22nd May at 7:30am.

Here are some pics from presentation day. Well done to Lou, who took out the adults first place; Bianca as runner up; and Owen for winning the kids first place.

Run 16

Congratulations Lou! Not quite maximum points for today's win because Lou was 6 seconds off her personal best time.

Olie and Doug were obviously feeling a bit competitive today with them both running a PB and also breaking.

I look forward to presentations today at 3:00pm down at the electric bbqs adjacent to our start/finish line - it looks like it will be a beautiful day.

I have also added a breakdown of how the points are allocated - just scroll down to find it.

Next week's run is at 7:30am on Saturday 15th May. See you there!

Run 15 - Season 2 begins

Congratulations, Margaret! For someone who thought she wasn't feeling in peak condition this morning, Margaret has taken out the maximum 20 points by crossing the line first in a personal best time. Can't get any better than that.

Season 2 is now underway and everyone who ran today has a headstart on those who didn't (myself included).

Well done to everyone and I hope to see you next Saturday, 8th May at our regular winter time of 7:30am.

And don't forget presentations are also on next Saturday at 3:00pm. Just remember to rsvp via phone or email so I know how many people are coming.

See you then.

Run 14 - Final run of Season 1

Well done everyone for turning up and taking part in the final run of Season 1. The rain held off which was nice although it was still very warm - were's autumn?

You'll notice that I haven't updated the run results or the consistency table as we are going to keep the results a closely guarded secret until our presentation day on Saturday 8th May. The presentation day will be held at the electric bbqs by the start line at 3:00pm and everyone is welcome, along with their families.

So I'll see you for the start of Season 2 at 8:00am on Sunday 2nd May (market weekend).

Run 13

Congratulations, Margaret! This cool Saturday morning was Margaret's turn to take out maximum points (20) by crossing the line 1st after the 30 minute mark and running a PB. Well done.

Also a big well done to Bianca who has nudged her way to the top of the consistency table by running a PB and placing 3rd.

So next Saturday 24th April is a mass start for the last run of the season. All 2km and 5km runners head off at 7:00am and all 3km runners head off at 7:10am. So make sure you are on time.

We will keep up the momentum by flowing straight into Season 2 on Sunday 2nd May @ 8:00am. (Market weekend)

Welcome to our new runners, I hope you enjoyed yourselves and we look forward to seeing you at River Runners again next week.

See you there!

Jodi

NB: We will be moving into the regular Saturday time slot of 7:30am for Season 2, except for Market weekends which will be run at 8:00am Sundays.

Also another huge congratulations to our Larry for coming 2nd out of a field of 495 at the Run the Rock at Hanging Rock 5km event. I'm still claiming him as 'our Larry'. :)

Run 12

Congratulations Anne-Marie! Yet again the maximum 20 points were awarded this week with Anne-Marie crossing the line closest to 30 minutes with a personal best time.

It was great to see the return of Lou and Larry. Larry has been doing very well with his running, managing to come 6th out of a field of 50 in a 1 mile sprint at Bendigo.

With only 2 runs left in the current season the contest is on between Bianca and Lou. Jenny is still in contention if she manages to secure a win with a personal best.

Talking about only 2 runs to go, next week will run as normal, however the last run of the season (24th April) will be a mass start. This means all the 2km and 5km runners go off at 0:00:00 while all 3km runners will go off at 0:10:00. This will mean the results will not be known until presentations which will be held on the weekend of 8th May.

See you at 7:00am next Saturday!

Run 11

Congratulations, Bianca! Well done on picking up maximum points (20) by running yet another personal best time and being first to cross the line after the 30 minute mark. Can she pick up another 8 points to surpass the currently injured Lou and take out the trophy for Season 1?

It was a beautiful morning for a run, and everyone must have liked the extra sleep in because we saw almost everyone run a PB today. Fantastic effort.

And a big welcome to 2 new runners this morning - we hope you enjoyed yourselves and we look forward to seeing you again next week.

Run 12 will be next Saturday, 10th April at 7:00am.

Run 10

Congratulations Jenny!

She finally cracked a win and took out maximum points (20) by also running a personal best time.

Well done to all our runners and the cheer squad. And a big welcome to our new runners - we look forward to seeing you again.

Next weekend we are going to run at 8:00am on MONDAY, due to the Warrandyte Market and Easter Sunday. So come along and burn up some of those Easter egg calories.

See you there.

No run Saturday 20 March - Festival

Remember that there is no run on Saturday 20 March due to the Warrandyte Festival.

There will be heaps to do down by the river, just maybe not running - too crowded. I'm sure the kids and adults alike are going to have a great time with all that is on offer. Check out www.warrandytefestival.org.au for all the details.

I hope you have a fun-filled weekend and look forward to seeing everyone on Saturday 27 March at 7:00am.

Run 9

Congratulations, Michelle! By taking out a win (first across the line after 30 minutes) and a personal best, Michelle secured the maximum 20 points. Bad luck, Nicole. With such a fantastic improvement in her running time Nicole 'broke' by just 10 seconds. But by doing so, still picked up 9 points.

There were quite a few personal bests recorded this morning in a reduced field so lots of points were awarded.

Well done to all those who participated in the Strawberry Fair fun run. With particular congratulations to 'our Larry' who took out his first fun run victory in just 21 minutes. What a fantastic result. He has a very bright running future so I'm claiming him as 'our Larry'.

With Warrandyte festival on next weekend we are going to have a weekend off WRR so I'll see you all at 7:00am on Saturday 27th March.

Happy training!
