Run 159 Season Final

That was the last run for the season and with a mass start it was really anyone's for the taking. Marianne showed us though why she deserves the top spot. She not only won today, she picked up a PB which provided the valuable points to allow her to take out the season.
Well done Marianne for a great effort and finish to the season. Following closely behind today and also on the leaderboard was Atsuko. A new runner to the group she is definitely one to look out for as her speed to the finish is outstanding.
I want to thank everyone for their participation this season and I look forward to seeing you all next season. I know it is the winter season and it is harder to get out of bed so to assist we have the new start times of 7:30am Saturday and 8:00am Sunday. I will organise for the relevant plaques and medals and will let you know when the presentations will be. If I get them back quickly hopefully in a two weeks time.
Thanks to Paul again for timekeeping this week.

There were 2 PBs this week:
PBs:
Marianne - 2 secs
Atsuko - 3 secs
Within 15 seconds:
Next week the run is on Sunday 5th May 2013 at 8:00am
New runners welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 158

There is only one run left in the season and as it is a mass start it is going to be difficult for individuals to gauge their pace against the rest of the field. Today was a great prelude as the temperature was a little cooler this morning and a mass start got everyone warmed up.

With all the adjustments done congratulations goes to Atsuko who has taken out another win for the season, closely followed by Olie. Without the mass start it would have been a very interesting finish indeed. Owen K was also up there, finishing out the top 3 and I think he is probably in a position to contend for the top adult position next season if he continues this way.
From a consistency points perspective the top spot is still up for grabs with the first three well in contention for the prize. Nada had a great run this morning with a new PB however was unfortunate to break. Will her re-handicap from the break assist her next week to upset the top spots or will they hold out.

As next week is a mass start, if you are not running and you would like to time keep why not come on down and see if you can work out the winner before the results go out.
It was also nice to see a number of spectators cheering everyone on this week.
There were 2 PBs and an equal PB:
PBs:
Barbara - 29 secs (Great to see)
Nada - 21 secs
Atsuko - equal
Within 15 seconds:

Next week the run is on Saturday 27th April 2013 at 7:00am. It is a MASS START so you need to be there on time.

Run 157

With only 2 runs of the season left, Marianne is cementing her ownership of the top spot. Congratulations on today's win. Olie was technically first across the line, however Marianne came back from not only having the handicap of setting everyone off but also not being able to easily gauge how you are travelling against the others. She pulled it off well though with a perfectly timed run to just pip Olie at the post. It shouldn't go unmentioned that Atsuko applied the pressure in the last 150m to narrowly finish in third. It was a great finish and Barbara can attest to the fact that the pressure was on as everyone rounded the corner and came into view of the finish line.
I should also mention a well done to Lewis who joined us for a short run and beat his dad across the line. Also Caitlin had a perfect run equalling her PB time of the previous week.
Well done to everyone out there today.
There was only 1 PB, an equal PB and 2 within 15 secs:
PBs:
Barbara - 8 secs (Great to see)
Caitlin - Equal
Within 15 seconds:
Atsuko and Olie
We also hope Paul has a speedy recovery.

Next week the run is on Saturday 20th April 2013 at 7:00am.

Run 156

Well a huge congratulations for Caitlin this week as she takes out the honours, running right on the 30 minute mark. It was touch and go as to whether she was going to break or not. The win was made possible due to a break by Atsuko as she ran another PB after the rest last weekend. Whilst Caitlin was closely followed by Lincoln across the line the adjustment for an earlier start time impacted his time. This meant Ollie came in second after his efforts a couple of weeks ago - posting a 1hr 13min time in the 15k run for the kids. Well done.
It was also nice to see Alex C back out with us, however he will need to return a little more regularly if he is going to challenge the ever consistent Owen K who pulled out another 3rd this week.
Well done to everyone out there today as the weather was spot on. This obviously showed with 5 PBs and 1 within 15 secs.
The 5 PBs and 1 within 15 secs were:
PBs:
Barbara - 1 min 7 secs (Improving every week - well done)
Caitlin - 1 minutes (Absolutely amazing)
Atsuko - 57 secs
Rob - 19 secs
Olie - 17 secs
Within 15 seconds:
Nada
I noticed Paul K is closing in on the 50 runs.

Next week the run is on Saturday 13th April 2013 at 7:00am.
New runners welcome at any stage during the season.
