Run 550

It was a humid morning for the run along the banks of the Yarra today with the rain overnight not really bringing down the temperature very much. This morning saw 6 starters in our run and we thank Nada for running early and doing the timekeeping again this week.
In the 2 km distance there was only one competitor, David. In the longer distances, it was Hayden who was first over the line in an almost perfectly timed run, coming in just two seconds after the 30 minute mark. Atsuko ran well into second position ahead of Jozica. Nada managed fourth position today and Paul was the last runner over the line.
There was one personal best time recorded today: Hayden managed to take 28 seconds off his previous PB. No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 546

Hi again everyone. We have started back again after all of the Melbourne lockdowns. This morning saw seven runners take on the course along the banks of the Yarra.

First over the line today was Jozica, but she has obviously been keeping up here running during the latest lockdowns and has come in under the 30 minute mark and has broken today. That left the win open for Tony who was first over the line after his handicap was included in his run time. Only seconds behind him were Atsuko and Nada in second and third places respectively. Jon managed fourth place just three seconds ahead of Hayden and Jacinta was the last competitor over the line this morning.

The winners of the last season were presented this morning and we congratulate Jon on being first in the tally last season with Tony being the runner up. Well done on running consistently through the COVID running seasons.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 27 November at 7:30 am.

New runners or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

We awarded the trophy and prizes for last year's seasons today, realising that we had not given these awards out at any stage last year:
  • In season 31 at the start of 2020, the winner with 74 points from 8 runs including 3 wins was Monica, and the runner up with 67 points from 10 runs including 2 wins was Nada.
  • We combined seasons 32 and 33 as there were only a total of nine runs between the two seasons and the aggregate winner with 106 points from 7 runs (including 5 wins out of the 9 runs!) was Monica, with the runner up with 56 points from 9 runs (with 1 win) was Nada.

We also acknowledged Atsuko reaching 250 runs with the group a few weeks ago. Incredible running - keep up the good work, Atsu.
