Runs 585, 586 and 587

Run 585

The new season started off well with six runners in the mix. In the end, it was Dave who managed to take out the win in his first ever 5 km run. Hayden managed second place ahead of Atsuko only seconds behind. Paul was in third place and Nada and James were the last runners over the line.

There were no personal best times (except Dave in his first 5 km) and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 586

There were seven starters in the run this week. Jacinta and Tony were the only competitors in the 2 km distance. In the longer, handicapped, section Harrison was the first runner over the line, just seconds ahead of Paul. Atsuko took out third place and Nada was in fourth. Jozica was the final runner over the line this week.

Nobody managed to achieve a personal best this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 587

There were nine starters in the run this week. Jacinta was the only person to take on the unhandicapped 2 km distance this week. In the longer distances, Atsuko was the first runner over the line ahead of Nada in second place and Paul in third. Jon took out fourth place only two seconds before Jozica with Adrienne in sixth place. Tony and Dave were the last over the line this week having walked the 3 km distance.

Nobody managed a personal best time this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week we have decided to cancel the run due to the extended long weekend for the AFL grand final and Queen's day of mourning public holiday. So the next run will be on SUNDAY 2 October at 7:15 am.

Run 584

There were six starters in the final run for the Winter season of Warrandyte River Runners. As it is the last run for the season, I will not update the season ladder until we have our presentation in a few weeks.

As is the tradition, everyone took off at the same time for the final run and once the handicaps were accounted for the results have been recorded. There was only one person taking on the 2 km (unhandicapped) distance this week: well done Tony. In the longer distances, Hayden was the first runner over the line, but he ran too quickly with his time being just before the 30 minute mark and recorded as a break this week. This left the win open for Harrison, with Atsuko in second place. Nada took out fourth place and Jozica was the last runner for this week.

Hayden managed to beat his previous 5 km personal best time this week, but no-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the Spring season will begin with a run on SUNDAY morning 4 September (Fathers' Day) at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
