Run 147

Congratulations Rob! Rob looks like he is making a play for the trophy this season taking out his 2nd win by crossing the line first after the 30 minute mark, just a whisker in front of Doug. Well done.

It was a beautiful morning for running and what a fabulous way to start Australia Day. The competition was fierce this week resulting in 4 breakers, 4 personal bests and 1 within 15 seconds of their PB. This week's PB's are;
Rob - 11 seconds
Lincoln - 34 seconds
Olie - 34 seconds
Martin - 1 minute 6 seconds - amazing!

Next week is market weekend so the run is on Sunday 3rd Feb 2013 at 7:30am.

I hope you enjoy the Australia Day long weekend, and the cooler weather and I'll see you next week down by the hut where we will have the long awaited Season 9 presentation.

Run 146

Congratulations Doug! Despite saying he is getting too old for this and that he is just heading out for a jog, this week Doug was first to cross the finish line after the 30 minute mark, and was within 15 seconds of his PB. Well done and keep running!

This week we welcomed 3 new runners and a new dog - welcome guys and I hope you enjoyed yourselves. We all love to see new faces, including Phoenix! We also welcomed back Martin who we haven't seen for a while and he set a cracking pace, luring others to try and catch him. As a result there were 3 breakers, 2 PB's and one within 15 seconds.

This week's PBs were;
Nada - 2 minutes 54 seconds - what a run!
Lincoln - 42 seconds
Doug - within 15 seconds.

Next week is Australia Day and a long weekend but of course we will still be running. The run is on Saturday 26th January 2013 at 7:00am. What a great way to begin your Australia Day celebrations!

See you down by the hut.

Run 145

Congratulations Mez! This week Mez was the first to cross the finish line after the 30 minute mark and secured 17 points. Well done.

It was a lovely mild morning after Friday's windy heat, so a good morning to get out for a river run. The heat must have taken it's toll because there were no personal best times recorded.

We welcomed a new runner, Nada, to our group. Hopefully Nada will become another regular River Runner - we need more women!

It is time for our bi-annual handicap adjustment so if you have run with us in the last 6 months but haven't run a PB in that time, you will have received a handicap lift. So it's a great time to get back into it and try for a win!

Next week the run is on Saturday 19th January, 2013 at 7:00am.

See you down by the hut.

Congratulations Rob. With only 3 runners it was easy points this week and Rob took out first place securing 17 points to start the season.

With Extreme fire conditions I took the boys and Phoenix and relocated so thank you to Rob for sticking around and looking after River Runners for me.

Next week the run is on Saturday 12th January 2013 at 7:00am.

See you down by the hut.
