Run 410

It was a warm but dark morning for the start of the run along the banks of the Yarra today. There were 18 starters all up and thanks to Jacinta for keeping the times for us today.

In the 2 km section, we had two starters in Harrison and Jacinta (after the main run). For the longer. handicapped section it seemed that people were heading out quickly this morning. Three people went too quick and came in before the 30 minute mark: Louanna, Mark and Elizabeth. That means that the first person over the lie ofter 30 minutes was Nada, giving her her first win for this season. Daniel was in a close second and Cormick, Kieran and Atsuko were not far behind. Rob was next in, ahead of Paul, Tessa, Henry and Jozica. Catherine, Peter and Jon rounded out the field.

There were four Personal Best times recorded today:
Louanna beat her previous 4km PB by 1 minute and 35 seconds
Mark beat his previous best time by 49 seconds
Elizabeth beat her PB by 1 minute and 3 seconds, and
Daniel beat his PB by 1 second.

and Two people were within 15 seconds of their PB:
Kieran and Cormick.

Well run to everyone who showed up.

The next run will be on Saturday 31 March at 7:30am PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE OF TIME FOR ENTERING INTO THE WINTER MONTHS.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

The random number drawn today was 4 - meaning that Nada wins the socks this week.

Run 409

This week saw the run along the Yarra on Thursday night as we were expecting the Warrandyte Festival to be on the weekend (but that's a different story). There were 13 starters for the run this week and we welcomed new runner Caitlin to the group.

In the 2 km event, Jacinta was first over the line, followed by Caitlin and Randall. For the longer, handicapped section Catherine managed to be first over the line, but ran four seconds too quickly and came in before the 30 minute mark. That left the win to be taken out by Renee, who came in just ahead of Atsuko and Monica. James was not too far behind in fourth place. Peter and Sandi finished within one second of each other and Nada was only seconds behind them. Elizabeth and Amelia were the last runners over the line.

There were two people who managed to run faster than their personal best times today and no one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.
Well done to Catherine for taking 56 seconds off your previous 3 km PB,
and to Renee fro taking 3 seconds off her previous 4 km PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 24 March at 7:00 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any time during the season.

The number drawn this week was 9 meaning the socks go to Elizabeth this week.

Run 408

There were 13 starters in the run/walk along the river this morning. Thanks to Nada for running/walking early and doing the time keeping today.

In the shorter, 2 km, section the five starters were Paul, Louanna, Jacinta, Alice and Mark. They all ran or walked the distance. In the longer, handicapped, section Atsuko continued her incredible series of runs, coming in at exactly the 30 minute mark and avoiding breaking. Cormick and Kieran came in just ahead of Daniel and Randall. The four runners were within 20 second of each other. Peter came in sixth, with Louanna and Nada rounding out the field.

There was only one personal best time today:
Congratulations to Atsuko who beat her personal best time by 19 seconds.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on THURSDAY EVENING at 6:30 pm due to Warrandyte Festival next weekend.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

The random number drawn for the socks was 9, meaning that Paul wins them this week.

Run 407

Because of the market on Saturday this weekend and Run Warrandyte on Sunday morning, the run this week was held on Thursday evening and saw 12 people running 2, 3, 4 or 5 km.

Only one runner took to the 2 km course this week in Jacinta. In the longer distances, times were very quick, with Daniel, Cormick and Kieran all coming in before the 30 minute mark and registering as a break for this week. That left the win to be taken out by Peter in a beautifully timed run, coming in only seconds after 30 minutes. Randall was in second place (and currently sits in second on the consistency table for this season as well), just ahead of Mark. Several people running new distances were Robert, Elizabeth and Catherine so they all registered a 31 minute time this week Nada and Monica were just behind them.

A reminder about the consistency table: only your best 10 runs from a season can count towards your tally for that season.

There were five Personal Best times tonight:
Randall took another 12 seconds off his previous best,
Mark took 30 seconds off his PB,
Cormick was 1 minute and 2 seconds faster than his previous best,
Kieran was 1 minute and 9 seconds ahead of his best pace, and
Daniel took an amazing 2 minutes and 56 off his previous PB.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be back to Saturday morning 10 March at 7:00 am.

New runners and/or walkers welcome at any stage during the season.

The random number drawn this week was 4, so Peter wins the socks for this week.
