Run 494

After a wild, wet and windy night it turned out to be blue skies and lovely weather (if a little brisk) for the run along the Yarra this morning. Thanks again to Jacinta for coming along to do the time-keeping duties today.

There were only two people taking on the shorter, 2 km, distance today: Paul and Steve. In the longer, handicapped distances it was Alicia over the line first followed closely by Sandi, but they had both run too quickly coming in before the 30 minute mark and were classified as breaking today. That left the win open for Nada, giving her a second win for this season and jumping her to second on the leaderboard for this season. Monica came in second and holds her top position on the consistency ladder. James took on the 6 km distance this morning for the first time and has been awarded third place ahead on Hayden. Adrienne came in fifth with Atsuko in sixth place and Jozica was last over the line today.

There were two personal best times recorded today:
Alicia took 1 minute and 15 seconds off her previous 5 km best time, and
Sandi came in 1 minute and 22 seconds ahead of her best time for the 4 km distance.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB this week.

After the run we went to breakfast at Now and Not Yet in Warrandyte to celebrate another year of Warrandyte River Runners. At the breakfast we celebrated the achievement of Jozica on reaching her 200th run with the group and awarded Steve his chocolates for his 200th last week.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 16 November at 7:00 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

This week's random number was 3, meaning that Nada wins the socks today.

After the rain in the lead to the Melbourne Cup "long" weekend, it was a lovely morning to run along the banks of the Yarra in Warrandyte. Ten people came down to run or walk this morning. Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the time-keeping duties today.

In the shorter distance there were four runners/walkers: Paul, Amelia, Mark and Jacinta. In the longer distances once the handicaps were taken into consideration, the winner was Matthew closely followed by Nada. Rachel came in third ahead of Monica and Jon. Steve was the last runner over the line this week.

This week was Steve's 200th run with the group. What a great achievement!

For the last weekend of the school holidays there were only 5 runners for the weekly run along the banks of the Yarra (maybe it was also the 7:00 am start). This meant that there were lots of big points up for grabs. Hopefully we may see a few more runners there this week at 7:00 am on Saturday.

Peter came in first place, only ten seconds ahead of Monica. Nada took out third place, with Alicia and Hayden the last runners over the line.

No-one managed to run a Personal Best time this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 488

This morning was a cooler and wetter morning for the run along the banks of the Yarra. There were 10 people running or walking with our group this morning, so we had another random number sock draw. Thanks to Atsuko for coming down to do the time-keeping duties today.

In the 2 km distance, there were two walkers: Paul and Jacinta. In the longer distances it was Nada who was first over the line today ahead of Adrienne and Monica who were only one second apart. Kieran managed fourth place with Jon in fifth. Cormick ran well into sixth position today and Peter and Dennis were the last runners over the line.

There was nobody who managed to run a personal best time today and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

We have also reinstated the "sock draw" for when we have more than 10 runners in a weekend. A random number is picked and the person who is in that line on the Weekly Results will win a pair of sports socks. Today's number was 3, meaning Peter wins the socks for this week.

Run 486

There were 15 starters in the run along the banks of the Yarra on Saturday running or walking each of the distances. Thanks yet again to Jacinta for coming down to do the time-keeping duties again this week. Thanks also to Quinton's SUPA IGA for the fruit they supply each week.

Everyone decided to take off and have the handicaps added on later. Paul and Margaret walked the 2 km distance (with Errol and Saga) this week. In the longer distances, once the times were adjusted for handicaps, Atsuko was first over the line in a beautifully timed 6 km run. It was a lovely morning for a Sunday run or walk along the banks of the Yarra today. Thanks to Jacinta for continuing to do the timing each week and, as always, a big thank you to Quinton's SUPA IGA for their donation of the fruit each week.

Three people took on the 2 km walk this morning: Paul, Mark and Rachel. In the longer distances, Cormick and James were in a sprint finish at the end of their 5 km distances, but pushed each other too hard, both coming in just before the 30 minute mark and being classified as breaking this week. The win went to Monica, who managed to come in ahead of Sandi today. Alicia stepped up to the 5 km distance and came in third place. Jon took out fourth ahead of Nada and Kieran. Peter and Randall were the last people over the line this morning.

There was one personal best time recorded this morning:

Run 483

It was great to have 11 starters again in the run this week, and great to see Hayden back for another run with the group. Thanks again to Jacinta for still coming along to do the time keeping duties each week at the moment.

It seems it was a quick morning today, with the first four people in before 30:11. In the 2 km distance, Paul was the only competitor. In the longer, handicapped distances, Jon was first over the line today but came in just before the 30 minute mark and was classified as breaking. That left the win once again for Randall who continues to run well. Kieran was in second only one second ahead of Atsuko. Hayden managed fourth place this week and Nada managed fifth. Tony, Steve, Cormick and Adrienne were the last ones over the line.

There were four personal best times recorded today:
Kieran took another 15 seconds off his PB,

Hayden was 26 seconds faster than last week, and
Randall took another 27 seconds off his best 5 km time.

In the consistency results for the season, it is one of the closest results we have seen for a few seasons, with three people who could win after next week's run - Randall, Kieran and Monica. As next week is the final run of the season, it will be a mass start with everyone taking off at 7:30 am so please be sure to get down nice and early.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 31 August at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 482

There were 11 starters in the run along the banks of the Yarra today. We welcomed Hayden to the group running 6 km and hope to see him down with the group again soon. Thanks to Jacinta who continues to do the time-keeping while she is injured.

As we are heading towards the end of the season, please remember that only your best ten runs can count towards your consistency table points.

In the 2 km distance, it was fabulous to see Louanna back for a visit from the States and still come down to run, and Mark walked the distance today. In the longer sections, once the handicaps were added in Jozica managed to be fist over the line, but was well under the 30 minute mark and was classed as a breaker today. That left the win open for Randall who was just two seconds ahead of Nada. Tony and Hayden both took on new distances and were therefore given handicaps to bring them in at 31:00. Kaje took out fifth place ahead of Jon and Rachel, and Paul was last over the line this morning.

There were two personal best times recorded today:
Randall took another 3 seconds off his PB and
Jozica took a full minute off her previous 3 km best.

No-one was out on the 2 km distance this morning. In the longer distances Atsuko was the first over the line, but she had gone out too quickly and came in before the 30 minute mark and was recorded as breaking today. That left the win open to Cormick who ran a beautifully timed 6 km today. Randall came in second place with Nada hot on his heels and Jozica just behind them. Kieran was in fifth place and Paul limped over the line in last spot this week.

There were four PB times recorded today:

Run 479

It was a fabulous morning for a run or a walk along the banks of the Yarra and today's run saw 15 people take to the 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 km courses. Thanks to Jacinta for coming down and doing the time-keeping duties this week. It was also good to see Sandi back and running well today. The weather was perfect and this was reflected in the fact that the first ten runners were all within 50 seconds of each other.

Mark was the only person to tackle the 2 km course today. In the longer distances, once the handicaps were taken into consideration, Jozica was first over the line but ran a little too quickly for our rules and came in just before the 30 minute mark today. That left the win open for Kieran in a beautifully timed run. Randall ran into second place just ahead of Nada. Sandi took out third place and Paul came in just ahead of Jon and Kaje (who ran the 6 km distance as three lots of 2 km instead of the usual two lots of 3 km). At the end of the run it was noticed that there was a platypus playing in the river just behind our start/finish line!

There were two walkers who took on the 2 km course today, Rachel and Mark. In the longer distances, once the handicaps were added in, it was Randall who was first over the line, but he had run too quickly and came in before the 30 minute mark and has broken today. The rain started just as the scratch runners took off at 7:30 this morning. Thankfully it didn't hang around and most of the run was in drier conditions. Thanks to Jacinta for coming down and doing the timekeeping duties this week. We congratulated Margaret at the end of the run for her 100th run with the River Runners. Margaret was one of the earliest runners in the competition, having her first run in Run 4.

Randall was only two seconds behind the leaders with Nada and Daniel running close behind. Monica came in sixth place today ahead of Rachel. Steve, Cormick, Matthew and Alicia were the final runners over the finish line today.

There was one Personal Best time recorded today:

Best wishes for Atsuko and James who are tackling the Gold Coast Marathon this weekend!

In the 2 km distance, Paul was first home with Rachel not too far behind him and Jacinta walked the distance today. In the longer distances, once the handicaps were added in it was Cormick who took out today's points, coming in ahead of Matthew with Kieran in third place only seconds behind. The rain held off for the duration of the run this morning and the 11 starters all ran off at scratch so handicaps were added on to the times afterwards. Thanks to Jacinta for walking early and doing the timekeeping today. Thanks as always to Quinton's Supa IGA for continuing to provide a box of fruit for the runners.

Paul was the first back this morning after taking on the 2km course, with Mark and Jacinta both walking 2 km today. In the longer, handicapped distances after the times were adjusted Amelia was first over the line followed by Monica. Both runners had gone out too quickly and returned before the 30 minute mark and were classified as breaking today. That left the win open for Randall in a well-timed run this week. He managed to come in just 11 seconds ahead of Daniel. Matthew took out third place with Kaje in fourth. Rachel and Peter were the last runners over the finish line today.

After the scores for this week were added to the leaderboard, Monica has jumped into first position overall. She sits just ahead of Kieran and Cormick with Randall and Nada not far behind. Run 470

It was a beautiful warm morning for a run along the banks of the Yarra and 17 people showed up for the run today. After adding on handicaps for those who started earlier than their scheduled time, the results were as follows:

In the 2 km distance, Tessa was first back followed by Margaret and Jacinta. For the longer distances, it was Paul who made it back first today, but he ran too quickly coming in under the 30 minute mark and being classified as a breaker today. There was definitely a chill in the air this morning as 13 people started the run along the banks of the Yarra in Warrandyte. Thanks very much to Jacinta for doing the timing before completing her 2 km walk this morning. We welcomed back Kaje after an extended absence from the group.

Most people took off at times which were not their handicaps so it was hard to know exactly who was in front today. After the handicaps were added in it was Kieran who managed to be first over the line today and gained the winning points. Paul managed to run into second place. Cormick was running strong today and managed third position ahead of Alicia. Rachel was next, 6 seconds ahead of Nada. Kate managed sixth place today, just ahead of Randall. Peter, Jon, Monica and Daniel rounded out the field.

There were no Personal Best times recorded today, and Kieran was the only person within 15 seconds of their PB.

This morning we also presented the winners of last season with their trophies and medals. Congratulations to the kids winner, Alicia, and runner up, Matthew. Well run for the season. In the shorter, 2 km, distance there were four runners. Paul was first over the line followed by Caitlyn, Margaret and then Jacinta. Run 467

It was wet underfoot but the rain held off as we ran along the banks of the Yarra this morning. We welcomed Gary to the group today running 5 km and hope to see him again in the future. Thanks to Peter for coming along to do the timekeeping duty today.

In the 2 km distance there was only one runner today, well done Margaret. In the longer distances, there was a draw for first place today with Monica and Cormick both registering the same time after handicaps were adjusted. Gary managed to be third over the line ahead of Paul and Alice (within 4 seconds of each other). Randall managed sixth place, only seconds ahead of Richard. Atsuko, Kieran and Jozica were the final runners to arrive today.

There was one personal best time recorded this week:
Cormick continues to improve, taking another 17 seconds off his previous best time.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 11 May at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any time during the season.

Run 466

It was a cold morning today that saw 14 starters in the run along the Yarra. Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the timekeeping today. As it was the last run of the season, we had a "mass start" at 7:30 and then handicaps were added on to times afterwards. Unfortunately Richard was not feeling well and did not finish today.

In the shorter distances, Margaret was first over the line followed by Mark. In the longer distances, Randall was first over the line,  but ran too quickly and came in before the 30 minute mark, as did Cormick who was next to finish. This means they were both classed as breaking this week. First place was taken out today by Alice, and the first five place-getters were all within a 20 second margin - great running to everyone. Second place was Peter ahead of James and Paul, with Monica in fifth place. Kieran ran well into sixth place ahead of Nada, Rachel and Jacinta.

There were two personal best times recorded today.
Not surprisingly they were:
Randall who beat his previous PB by 43 seconds, and
Cormick who was 47 seconds ahead of his previous best time.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 4 May at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Runs 464 and 465

It has been a couple of weeks since I managed to put together a blog post and mail out, so here goes:

Run 464

There were eight starters for the run on the middle weekend of the school holidays and we welcomed Tony for his first run with the group.

Alicia was the first over the line after the 30 minute mark today, followed by Randall and Peter. Nada ran well into fourth place. Steve, Kieran and Cormick rounded out the field in the longer distances today. Tony was the only person to run the 2 km course.

There were two personal best times recorded today:
Alicia took 1 second off her previous 4 km best, and
Randall took another 6 seconds of his previous PB time.

One other runner ran within 15 seconds of their PB:
Well run Peter.

Run 465

There were only six runners for the event this week, thanks to Peter for running early and doing the time-keeping this week.

First over the line once the handicaps had been added in was Nada. Peter managed to be two seconds ahead of Paul. Atsuko was in fourth position and Jacinta rounded out the field for the longer runs. Margaret was the only runner to complete the 2 km distance.

There we're no personal best times recorded this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

This week the run will be on Saturday 27 April. As it is the last run for the season we will have the traditional "mass start" with everyone leaving at about 7:30 am, so please make sure you are there for the start.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 463

It was a cool morning which saw 12 competitors starting out after an extra hour's sleep with the change over of daylight savings time. It was great to see Richard back for his second run. Thanks to Nada for running early and then doing the time-keeping.

In the 2 km distance, Margaret continues to make inroads into her time, and Mark and Rachel walked together. In the longer distances, the pace was very quick and saw three people break, coming in before the 30 minute mark. First over the line today was Peter, followed closely by Paul and Randall. That left the win open for Richard. Nada managed second place ahead of Matthew. Atsuko ran another 6 km distance today and managed fourth place. Jozica and Jacinta rounded out the field today.

Four people ran personal best times for their chosen distances this morning:
Randall took 31 seconds off his previous PB,
Paul was 34 seconds faster than his previous best,
Peter took 42 seconds off his PB, and
Richard managed to run 52 seconds faster than his previous time.

One other person was within 15 seconds of their PB:
Well done Mark.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 13 April at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 462

It was a wet morning, but the rain cleared as five people began the run along the banks of the Yarra today. Many thanks to Jacinta for doing the timing and collecting the fruit and running afterwards (and Atsuko going for another run with her).

Paul managed to take out the win this week, stepping up to the 4 km distance for the first time this season. Atsuko was the first person to ever take on a 6 km distance with the group (and no-one was surprised that she was the first!!) and ran into second place today. Peter came in third place, only 8 seconds behind Atsu. Nada managed fourth place and Jacinta was the final person over the line today.

There were no personal best times recorded this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 7 April at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 461

With the Warrandyte Festival on this weekend, those who could got together on Thursday evening for this week's run along the banks of the Yarra. Thanks to Nada for collecting the fruit from Quinton's Sup IGA and for running early and doing the timekeeping.

There were only four runners so there were plenty of points up for grabs. We all left at the same time to make life a bit easier, and Paul and Monica were out fast. Paul was trying to stay ahead and Monica was using him as a moving target. This meant that once the handicaps were added back in, Monica was first over the line and Paul was second but both of them broke, coming in before the 30 minute mark. That left the win wide open for Jacinta this week, with Nada in second place.

No-one ran a personal best time or was within 15 seconds of their PB this week.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 30 March at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any time during the season.

Run 459 and 460

Sorry I didn't get to post last week. Here are the results from the last two weeks:

Run 459

There were an amazing 21 starters in the run this morning. The largest group we have had for a long time. We welcomed Andy and Alice to the group this week running the 3 km and 5 km courses respectively. Thanks to Nada for doing the time-keeping this week.

Four people took on the 2 km distance today: Caitlin and Amelia came in at the same time, Margaret managed third place and Mark walked the distance. In the longer distances, Nada was far too quick over the 4 km distance coming in well before the 30 minute mark. That meant that the win was open for Jozica who came in just 3 seconds ahead of Jacinta with Atsuko in third place. Alicia was in fourth place just ahead of Rachel and Cormick. Monica came in seventh with Andy and Alice having a handicap added to their times bringing them in equal eighth. Paul managed ninth place ahead of Kieran and Steve. Peter, Matthew, Connie and Adrienne rounded out the field this week.

Four people managed to run personal best times this weeks:
Caitlin was 4 minutes and 12 seconds ahead of her previous best in the 2 km distance;
Cormick trimmed 7 seconds off his previous PB;
Connie took another 53 seconds off her previous 3 km best; and
Nada took a whopping 4 minutes and 48 seconds off her best 4 km time.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 460

15 people showed up for the run along the banks of the Yarra this morning. It was great to see Alice back again for her second run, and we also welcomed Richard for his first ever run with us. Thanks to Jacinta for time-keeping this week.

In the shorter, 2 km distance, there were three runners/walkers. Well done to Jacinta, Margaret and Mark. In the longer distances, Randall came in for another win this season, just one second ahead of Atsuko, with Paul 5 seconds behind. Alice was only seconds behind in fourth place, with Monica and Peter nipping at her heels. Linda managed to come in seventh place and Richard managed eighth. Rachel, Steve, Matthew and Jozica were the final runners over the line this week.

There were two personal best times recorded this week:
Randall took another 26 seconds off his PB; and
Alice beat her previous week's time by 45 seconds.

Two other runners were within 15 seconds of their PBs:
Well run to Peter and Linda.

Next week is the Warrandyte Festival weekend so there will be no way we can use the river path on Saturday or Sunday, therefore we will be running on THURSDAY EVENING 21 March at 6:00 pm.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 458

With the hot weather and the activities on over the weekend meaning that the run had to be switched to Thursday evening, there were only three runners who managed to make it. Thanks to Peter for doing the timekeeping this week.

In first place on Thursday was Peter managing to come in just 4 seconds ahead of Randall, with Jacinta in third place.

No-one managed a personal best time this week, but Peter was within 15 seconds of his 3 km PB.

Congratulations to all runners who completed the Run Warrandyte Fun Run on Sunday. It looked like it was a great morning.

Next week the run will be back to Saturday 9 March at 7:30 am.

Run 457

It was a beautiful morning for a run along the banks of the Yarra today and it was great to see 16 people down for the run/walk this week. Thanks to Jacinta for doing the timekeeping before going on her run today.

There were two people who took the 2 km walk option, although it became a running race at the end and Rachel managed to just beat Mark home. In the longer distances it was Kieran who was first over the line after the 30 minute mark, with Linda and Randall nipping at his heels. In fourth place was Jozica, followed closely by Cormick. Peter and Monica managed sixth and seventh places respectively. Jon came in ahead of Atsuko to secure eight position, and Steve, Matthew, Connie, Paul and Jacinta rounded out today's field.

There was one Personal Best time recorded today:
Well done to Connie, who took 1 minute 47 seconds off her previous best time.

Two people were within 15 seconds of their PB:
well run Linda and Cormick.

Run 456

It was a lovely morning for a run along the banks of the Yarra River today and 11 competitors joined today's run. It was good to see Linda back again and thanks to Nada for doing the timing after running earlier this morning.

There were two competitors who walked the 2 km distance this morning, Atsuko and Paul. In the longer, handicapped distances, two runners were too quick this morning coming in before the 30 minute mark: Kieran and Randall. Cormick managed to be the first over the line today just after 30 minutes. Nada ran her first 4 km today, so her time was adjusted for this and she gained a second place. Jacinta was only four seconds ahead of Linda in third and fourth places respectively. Jon, Jozica and Monica rounded out today's field.

Apologies for the results last week. I made a few errors and have adjusted the details since. The main change was the Randall was included and managed to come second. That has then affected all the remaining places.

There were three runners who ran Personal Best times this week:
Randall took another 46 seconds off his previous best,
Cormick was 51 seconds faster than his previous PB, and
Kieran managed to beat his best time for 5 km by 54 seconds.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 23 February at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 455

This weekend saw 12 runners or walkers down by the Yarra for the weekly run. Thanks to Jacinta for doing the timekeeping this week before completing her run. We welcomed two new competitors this week in Linda and Connie. It was great to see you here and we hope to see you again.

Two competitors took the 2 km walk option - Nada and Stephen. In the longer runs, Jozica came back from her holiday and was in fine form, coming in before the 30 minute mark and breaking this week. That left the win open for Cormack, and the first five places came in within 25 seconds of each other. Kieran took out second place only a second ahead of Monica. Alicia and Atsuko were not far behind. Linda was awarded sixth place, and Steve, Jacinta and Connie rounded out the rest of the field.

Two runners managed to run personal best times today:
Cormick took 35 seconds off his previous 5 km best time, and
Kieran took 24 seconds off his PB.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 16 February at 7:30 am.

We announced the winners of last season and awarded their trophies and medals. In the kids section, the winner of Season 27 was Matthew (75 points) with Alicia (52 points) runner up. In the adult division, Randall took out the win with a total of 146 points for the season including 6 wins. Peter was in second place with 74 points. Congratulations to all 31 of the runners who competed in Season 27.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 454

It was a warm morning for the run or walk along the banks of the Yarra this morning and we had seven participants in the 2, 3, 4 and 5km distances. Thanks to Nada for walking early and then doing the timekeeping for us today.

Nada and Margaret walked the 2 km distance today, Margaret ably assisted by Errol and Saga! In the longer distances Randall thought he was running slowly, but still managed to come in before the 30 minute mark, breaking again this week. That left the win open for Jacinta, who came in ahead of Atsuko. Paul managed third place and Steve rounded out the field today and it was great to see him back with the group.

There were two personal best times recorded today:
Randall took another 53 seconds off his previous 5 km PB, and
Nada walked the 2 km distance 3 minutes and 58 seconds than she has previously.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 9 February at 7:30 am, and we will have the presentation of last season's trophies and prizes after the run.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 453

After the hot weather this week it was lovely to get up to a relatively cooler morning for the run along the river. Thanks to Nada (and Stephen) for walking earlier and doing the timing this morning.

Nada and Stephen were the only two out on the 2 km course this morning with everyone else in the main (handicapped) section. Atsuko was the first back over the line today in a perfectly timed run coming in at exactly the 30 minute mark. Due to running a shorter distance for this  season, she could not be awarded the full points for this run. Randall was only seconds behind her in second place. Cormick and Kieran stepped up to the 5 km distance in their first run of 2017. Paul managed to come in fifth place today ahead of Jacinta and Monica.

There was only one personal best time recorded today:
Congratulations to Randall for taking another 28 seconds off his PB.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week will be the first Warrandyte Market for the year on Saturday, so we will be running on SUNDAY 3 February at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 451 and 452

Run 451

Last week, there were only 4 starters for the run, meaning there were big points available for everyone. Everyone took off at scratch and the handicaps allocated afterwards.

Peter was the first over the line after the handicaps were applied this week, ahead of Jon in second place. Jacinta came in third and Monica was the last over the line.

No Personal Best times were recorded and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 452

The weather was lovely for a run or walk along the banks of the Yarra this morning. We welcomed Stephen to the group for his first 2 km walk (but we are fairly sure it was just to make sure that Nada wasn't tempted to run in her recovery). Thanks to Nada for time-keeping before her walk today.

In the 2 km distance, Paul was first over the line, while Mark, Nada and Stephen walked the distance. In the longer distances, Randall was the first across the line, but once again he was too quick coming in before the 30 minute mark and breaking. That left the win open for Peter in his seconds win for the season (only three weeks in). Jacinta was in second place with Amelia, Adrienne and Monica rounding out today's field.

There was one personal best time recorded this week:
Well run Randall who took 90 seconds off his previous PB for 5 km.

One other runner was within 15 seconds of their PB:
well run Peter who equalled his PB for 3 km.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 26 January at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any time during the season.

Run 450

It was a lovely morning to start the new season of River Runners. With it being the first run of the New Year and still school holidays, there were not many people around for the run. Thanks to Jacinta for coming down and doing the timing for us this week.

Randall began the new season in style - stepping up to the 5 km distance and managing a first place, earning him the maximum 20 points for this run. Paul ran into second place ahead of Atsuko and Jacinta. Harrison was the only person completing the 2 km distance this week.

No-one was running at personal best time, and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 12 January at 7:30 am. I won't be there for this week and won't manage to get the results up for a couple of weeks.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
