Run 441

The morning was warmer today for the run along the banks of the Yarra and we had 13 people running. Thanks to Jacinta for doing the timing before she went on her run.

In the 2 km distance, Jacinta was first back over the line and Daniel and Mark walked the distance this morning. For the longer events Genevieve was first home just ahead of Atsuko, but they had both run too quickly, finishing before the 30 minute mark and breaking this week. That left the win for this week open to Randall. Peter came in second place ahead of Paul. In fourth position was Nada, only seconds ahead of Alicia and James. Matthew and Harrison rounded out the field this week.

There were two personal best times recorded this week:
Randal took another 18 seconds off his previous PB and
Genevieve took a whopping 1 minute and 15 seconds off her time.

One other person was within 15 seconds of their PB:
well run Atsuko.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 4 November (it is the Melbourne Cup "long" weekend) at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any time during the season.

Run 440

It was a cold and wet morning that saw six starters in the run this week with everyone running the longer distances (3, 4 or 5 km). Thanks to Nada for running early and keeping the times today.

Randall was out like a rocket (again) and came in too quickly. He was in before the 30 minute mark and has therefore broken this week. That left the win open for Nada. James was in second spot followed by Atsuko. Peter and Jacinta picked up points this week in fourth and fifth positions respectively.

Congratulations to James on completing a 100 km run in September and to Atsuko on completing another marathon. Well done to you both and congratulations on these outstanding achievements.

Thanks again to Quinton's IGA for donating a fruit hamper for the runners each week - it continues to be delicious!

There was one personal best time recorded this week:
Congratulations to Randall who took another 38 seconds off his previous 4 km best.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 27 October at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 439

There were 15 people down at the Yarra for the run along the banks of the river today. Thanks to Nada for doing the timings this morning.

Mark was the only person to take on the 2 km course this morning. In the longer, handicapped courses Alicia was the first person over the finish line, but she was just two seconds too quick, classifying her as breaking this week. That left the win open for Matthew (just three seconds behind her, but after the 30 minute mark). Jon managed to come in second, just one second ahead of Cormick with Randall in fourth place today. Imogen come in just ahead of Daniel and Atsuko and Genevieve stepped up to the 3 km distance this morning. Kieran managed ninth place ahead of Jacinta. Harrison, Nada and Jozica rounded out the field.

There were two personal best times recorded this morning:
Matthew took an amazing 59 seconds off his previous PB, and
Randall took 9 seconds off his best time.

Two other people were within 15 seconds of their PB:
well run to Alicia and Imogen.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 20 October at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
