Run 428

There were 15 people running along the river this morning. It was good to see James back with us again this week. Thanks to Jacinta for running early and doing the timings.

Two people took on the shorter (2 km) course today: Jacinta and Paul. In the longer distances, it was James who came over the line first, followed by Catherine, but they we're both too quick, coming in before the 30 minute mark. That left the win open for Atsuko - her third win for the season and takes her to the top of the leaderboard for this season. Renee was in second place just ahead of Henry and Robert, with Tessa only seconds back. Daniel managed sixth place this week ahead of his brother and sister, Matthew and Rachel. Peter Jozica and Jon rounded out this week's field.

Remember that only your best 10 runs can count towards your consistency points for the season.

There were three people with personal best times recorded this week:
Renee took 14 seconds off her previous best,
Catherine and James both managed to improve their PB times by a massive 52 seconds.

Atsuko was the only other person within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 5 August at 7:30 am.

The lucky number drawn this week was 7, meaning that Tessa wins the socks.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Runs 426 and 427

It has been a busy couple of weeks for me again, so I didn't get to post last week. Here are the results of the last two runs.

Run 426

There were 13 people out to run in all of our distances this week (2, 3, 4 and 5 km). Thanks to Dennis for coming along to help out with the timing.

Five people took on the 2 km distance in a run or walk: Rachel, Daniel, Alice, Mark and Matthew. In the longer, handicapped, distances, Adrienne was first over the line but came in before the 30 minute mark leaving the win open to Atsuko. Cormick was in second place, only seconds ahead of Kieran. Li-Ern and Louanna were next over the line and Jon and Jacinta rounded out the field.

Only one person managed a PB this week:
Rachel beat her previous 2 km best by 6 minutes and 43 seconds!

The random number drawn was 12, meaning Mark wins the socks this week.

Run 427

There were 12 starters in the run this week, and thanks to Peter for running early and then helping out with the timing. Welcome Mathis back from France and up early for the run this morning.

Four people ran or walked the 2 km distance today: Mathis, Paul, Louanna and Jacinta. Mark was first over the line in the longer distances, just six seconds ahead of Atsuko. Daniel and Matthew both managed the same time over the 4 km distance in equal third position, as did Rachel and Tessa over the 3 km course coming in equal fifth. Harrison and Peter rounded out the field this morning.

There were two personal best times this week:
Mark beat his previous best time by 10 seconds, and
Mathis beat his previous PB by 15 seconds.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

The random number this week was 11, meaning Louanna wins the socks.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 28 July at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 425

The drizzle started this morning at about the same time as our run, but that didn't deter 13 people from coming down to run along the banks of the Yarra this morning. Thanks to Dennis for coming along to help Paul with the timings.

Cormick started out on his usual 4 km run, but had a tumble on his return and only completed 2 km. Rachel and Louanna also walked this morning.

In the longer, handicap runs, Li-Ern was first over the line again this week, but continues to better her previous times and has again come in before the 30 minute mark. First place went to Daniel, who came in just ahead of Mark. Matthew managed to hold off Kieran for third place. Nada ran in to fifth place today ahead of Jacinta. Jozica, Peter and Tessa rounded out the field today.

There were two personal best times recorded today:
Li-Ern continues to improve her times and today took 54 seconds off her previous PB, and
Mark took 4 seconds off his PB for the 4 km distance.

One other runner was within 15 seconds of their PB:
well run Daniel.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 14 July at 7:30 am.

The lucky number drawn this week was 9, meaning Tessa wins the socks.

Run 424

It was another cold morning that saw 12 people start out in the weekly run along the bank of the Yarra River in Warrandyte this week. Thanks to Peter for coming along and doing the timekeeping this week.

Three people took a walk along the river bank today, Louanna, Mark and Rachel. Everyone else ran in the longer distances (3, 4 or 5 km). After handicaps were added on to some of the times, it was Li-Ern who was first over the line this week in her second run with us. She came in before the 30 minute mark and so has been listed as a breaker for this week, leaving the win open for Nada in a near-perfectly timed run. Adrienne ran into second place this week. Jacinta was only seconds ahead of Paul and Daniel. Matthew was in sixth position, with Jozica and Tess rounding out the field.

There was only one person who managed to beat their previous personal best time for their chosen distance this week:
well doe Li-Ern on beating your previous run by 1 minute and 5 seconds - great running.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next weekend is market day in Warrandyte, so the run will be on Sunday 8 July at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

The random number this week was 2 meaning Nada gets the socks!
