Runs 574 and 575

Run 574

There were only 5 starters in the run along the banks of the Yarra this week in the cold and wet conditions. We were grateful that it didn't rain on us during our run, but the ground was quite wet underfoot. Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the time-keeping duties this week.

Only one person took on the 2km distance this week: Good work Caitlyn. In the longer distances, Atsuko was first over the line with Paul in second place. Nada managed a time to bring her into third place and Harrison was the last person to finish.

No personal best times were recorded this week and nobody was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 575

In our final June run for the year, there were again five starters this week. Thanks to Jacinta for coming along to do the time-keeping this week. Atsuko has managed to earn enough points to make her way to the top of the points ladder this week in what looks like being a close season.

Everyone took on one of the longer (handicapped) distances, with Nada being the first to come in just after the 30 minute mark in an excellently timed run. Harrison managed to take out second place slightly ahead of Jozica. Atsuko was in fourth place this week and Paul was the last person over the line.

There was one personal best time recorded today: well run Harrison in taking 28 seconds off your previous PB. No-one else was within 15 seconds of their best time.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 3 July at 7:30 am. The following week it will be on Saturday 9 July at 7:15 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Runs 572 and 573

 Run 572

Our first run in June saw four people start off along the banks of the Yarra on Sunday morning after the market. Thanks to Nada for doing the timekeeping duties this week.

Tony was the first runner over the line today, just ten seconds ahead of Hayden. Atsuko managed third place and Nada was the final finisher for the week.

There were no personal best times recorded this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 573

We tried out the new start time of 7:15 this week (well we tried). There were ten starters this morning and we thank Jacinta for doing the time-keeping duties this week.

In the 2 km distance there were three competitors: Paul, Jacinta and Caitlyn. In the longer distances, Harrison was the first runner over the line, but ran too quickly today and came in well before the thirty minute mark and was therefore marked as a breaker. That left the win open to Hayden, just one second ahead of Jozica in a fight for line honours. Atsuko managed third place, with Tessa in fourth. Jon took out fifth place and Alicia was last over the line today.

There was only one personal best time recorded this morning with Harrison taking a huge 52 seconds off his previous 3 km best time. No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 18 June with the clock starting at 7:15 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
