Run 596

It felt a little on the fresh side this morning as we gathered at the pergola for the start of the run, with all seven competitors opting for 3, 5 or 6 km runs. We were able to revert to our original path as the Yarra had subsided a little, but there was an extra complication this week of a large tree over the track (almost turning the run into a steeplechase). Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the time-keeping duties this week.

First person over the line after the 30 minute mark this week was Paul, with Jon in second place. Tony came in just ahead of Atsuko to take out third position, and Tessa was only one second ahead of Nada in fifth place. Jozica was the final competitor in this morning.

Paul was the only person to take on the 2 km distance this week. In the longer, handicapped, distances, it was Jon who managed to be first over the line after the thirty minute mark with Harrison and Atsuko in a race for second spot.Jozica took out third place and Nada was last to finish today (once her handicap was added onto her time).

There were three people who braved the waterlogged track for the run this weekend.

Run 590

It was a beautiful morning for the run and the path was dry except for below the Dairy where the river had flooded onto the track. The group was able to find an easy bypass along the high path beside the Dairy and back down the path by the Warrandyte Historical Society where they all gave a nod to esteemed River Runner Margaret who was recently crowned Manningham Citizen of the Year. Then off for coffee after the run.

After the handicaps were added onto the times this week, Jon was first over the line but in a run that was too quick and came in before the 30 minute mark (must be the training for the marathons that he has recently completed). That left the win open for Atsuko Tony managed second place only ten seconds ahead of Dave and Jozica was the last runner in this week.

There was one personal best time recorded this week. Well run Jon who beat his previous 6 km PB by 2 seconds. No one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday morning 22 October at 7:00 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 584

There were six starters in the final run for the Winter season of Warrandyte River Runners. As it is the last run for the season, I will not update the season ladder until we have our presentation in a few weeks.

There was only one person taking on the 2 km (unhandicapped) distance this week: well done Tony. Sorry I have missed a few weeks of updating, if you want to see the results of the Runs 552 and 553 just click on the link below for Weekly Results. Thanks to Nada for coming down this morning and running early so that she could be the timekeeper today.

After a few adjustments once previous weeks' data were entered and these altered some start times a little, the results for this morning were: first place was taken out by Tony, who came in ahead of Hayden. In third place was Atsuko with Nada not too far behind her. Last over the line today was Paul.

There were no Personal Best times recorded this morning and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 6 February at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 551

It was great to have five starters for the first run in 2022. Thanks again to Nada for running early and then doing the timekeeping duties this week.

Nobody took on the shortest (2 km) distance, so everyone was in the running for the major points. Well done to Atsuko who ran an almost perfectly timed run to come in first position only seconds ahead of Hayden. Nada managed to take out third place this week and Jon and Renee were the last runners over the line.

There were two new personal best times recorded this week:
Atsuko beat her previous 5 km best time by 11 seconds; and
Hayden managed to take 15 seconds off his previous PB for the 5 km distance.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 15 January at 7:00 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

I will be combining the points from last season and this season to determine the overall winner at the end of April.
