Runs 570 and 571

Run 570

There were seven starters in the run this morning and we thank Jacinta for doing the time-keeping duties for the group this week.

In the shortest (unhandicapped) distance there were two competitors: Jacinta and Paul. In the longer distances Jon was the first runner home, ahead of Tessa. Jozica came in just behind her. Tony managed fourth place with Nada the last runner over the line.

There was one personal best time recorded today: well run Tessa who beat her previous PB by 11 seconds. Two others were within 15 seconds of their PB: great running Jon and Jozica.

I forgot to acknowledge in last week's report that Nada has reached the amazing milestone of being the first ever Warrandyte River Runner to have run 350 runs with the group. This is a wonderful achievement. Nada had been running with the group since January 2013 and has been our most frequent time-keeper. Thanks for all of your hard work and well done on achieving this feat.

Run 571

It was a cold morning that saw six starters in the run along the banks of the Yarra this morning. Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the time-keeping duties for us this week.

In the 2 km distance, there were two runners/walkers: Paul and Jacinta. In the longer distances, it was Jon who was first over the line this morning, followed very closely by Jozica. Atsuko was not all that far behind in third and only 5 seconds ahead of Nada's time once it had the handicap added in.

There were no personal best times recorded this morning and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 5 June at 7:30am. We will then begin a trial of starting the timer at 7:15am on Saturdays.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
