Run 590
It was a beautiful morning for the run and the path was dry except for below the Dairy where the river had flooded onto the track. The group was able to find an easy bypass along the high path beside the Dairy and back down the path by the Warrandyte Historical Society where they all gave a nod to esteemed River Runner Margaret who was recently crowned Manningham Citizen of the Year. Then off for coffee after the run.
After the handicaps were added onto the times this week, Jon was first over the line but in a run that was too quick and came in before the 30 minute mark (must be the training for the marathons that he has recently completed). That left the win open for Atsuko Tony managed second place only ten seconds ahead of Dave and Jozica was the last runner in this week.
There was one personal best time recorded this week. Well run Jon who beat his previous 6 km PB by 2 seconds. No one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.
Next week the run will be on Saturday morning 22 October at 7:00 am.
New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Nobody managed to run a personal best time, but Harrison was within 2 seconds of his PB.
Run 589
Six people were involved in the run this week and we, once again, thank Nada for doing the time-keeping duties.
After the handicaps were added in and adjusted for people who began at different times, it was Paul who came in first this week. He was only seconds ahead of Monica with Jon in third place. Nada managed fourth this week and Atsuko and Tony were the last runners over the line.
Nobody managed to achieve a personal best time this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.
Next week the run will be on Saturday 15 October at 7:00 am. PLEASE NOTE THE EARLIER TIME FOR DAYLIGHT SAVINGS.
We have made some announcements and presented the trophies for the last season over the last couple of weeks. Congratulations to Tony for being the winner of Season 38, with Harrison in second position. In the kids' section the winner was Harrison and second place went to Caitlyn. Congratulations also to Paul for reaching 350 runs, to Atsuko for reaching 300, and to Jon for completing 250 runs with the group.

In the longer, handicapped distances this week saw Jozica cross the line first, followed by a cluster of three runners in quick succession: Jo, Tony and Hayden. Atsuko ran well into fifth position just ahead of the last runner this week, Jon.

There were only 5 starters in the run along the banks of the Yarra this week in the cold and wet conditions. We were grateful that it didn't rain on us during our run, but the ground was quite wet underfoot. Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the time-keeping duties this week.
Only one person took on the 2km distance this week: Good work Caitlyn. In the longer distances, Atsuko was first over the line with Paul in second place. Nada managed a time to bring her into third place and Harrison was the last person to finish.
No personal best times were recorded this week and nobody was within 15 seconds of their PB.
Run 575
In our final June run for the year, there were again five starters this week. Thanks to Jacinta for coming along to do the time-keeping this week. Atsuko has managed to earn enough points to make her way to the top of the points ladder this week in what looks like being a close season.
Everyone took on one of the longer (handicapped) distances, with Nada being the first to come in just after the 30 minute mark in an excellently timed run. Harrison managed to take out second place slightly ahead of Jozica. Atsuko was in fourth place this week and Paul was the last person over the line.

Run 573
We tried out the new start time of 7:15 this week (well we tried). There were ten starters this morning and we thank Jacinta for doing the time-keeping duties this week.
In the 2 km distance there were three competitors: Paul, Jacinta and Caitlyn. In the longer distances, Harrison was the first runner over the line, but ran too quickly today and came in well before the thirty minute mark and was therefore marked as a breaker. That left the win open to Hayden, just one second ahead of Jozica in a fight for line honours. Atsuko managed third place, with Tessa in fourth. Jon took out fifth place and Alicia was last over the line today.
There was only one personal best time recorded this morning with Harrison taking a huge 52 seconds off his previous 3 km best time. No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.
Next week the run will be on Saturday 18 June with the clock starting at 7:15 am.

This week's run was on Mothers' Day and we hope that all of the mothers in this group had a wonderful day on Sunday. We welcomed Karla to the group for her first run with us this week and hope to see her back joining the group when she can. This was the first run of the new season.
Paul was the only person to take on the shorter distance this week, walking the 2 km distance. In the longer distances, it was Jozica who was first over the line in a perfectly timed run. She was followed by Atsuko, Tony and Alicia with only seconds separating the three runners. Karla was allocated her first handicap which brought her in as the last runner this week.
There were two runners who managed personal best times on Sunday: Jozica beat her previous PB by 22 seconds and Karla obtained a PB for her first ever run.
Next week the run will be on Saturday 14 May at the later time of 7:30am.

Run 563
With seven starters this morning it seemed that there was something in the air to help people move more quickly today! Thanks again to Jozica for doing the time keeping duties this week.
The first person over the line today was Jozica, but she had run too quickly for our system dn came in before the 30 minute mark, meaning that she has broken this week. That left the win open for Tessa who came in just after 30 minutes. She was very closely followed by Dave and Tony is second and third places. Hayden was only 7 seconds back from that bunch. Jon was in fifth place ahead of Atsuko, who was last over the line today.
There were two Personal Best times recorded this morning:
Dave took 34 seconds off his previous PB, and
Jozica took a whopping 1 minute and 18 seconds off her previous 3 km best time.
Two other people came within 15 seconds of their PBs:
well run Tessa and Hayden.
