Run 757

It was a very humid morning that saw five starters in the run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra through Warrandyte this week. Many thanks to Jozica for coming along to handle the timekeeping duties, as she will be competing in the Run Warrandyte event on Sunday. Good luck to all competitors in tomorrow’s run.

Fresh back from Italy, Sandi was in fine form, taking out the win this week just ahead of James. Atsuko was not far behind in third place, running alongside Jon who finished in fourth. Paul was the final runner over the line.

There were no personal best times recorded this week, and nobody finished within 15 seconds of their PB, so no extra points were awarded.

Next week is the Warrandyte Community Market on Saturday, so we will hold our run on Sunday 8 March with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Runs 755 and 756

Run 755

There were five starters in the run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra through Warrandyte this week. Many thanks to James for coming along to handle the timekeeping duties.

Tony and Dave both completed a 2 km non-handicapped walk this week. In the handicapped distances, Jozica was the first runner over the line but finished well before the 30 minute mark and was therefore classified as a breaker. This left the win open to Atsuko, with Paul finishing in second place.

Three personal best times were recorded this week. Jozica took an impressive 1 minute and 13 seconds off her previous PB. Atsuko was 20 seconds faster than her best time, and Tony completed the 2 km walk 2 minutes faster than his previous effort.

Run 756

It was a humid morning for this week’s run, with six starters lining up. Thanks again to James for taking on the timekeeping duties.

Stephen continued his improvement in the 3 km walk but finished before the 30 minute mark and was therefore recorded as a breaker. Dave then took out the win with a well-timed run. Atsuko finished in second place just ahead of Jozica. Nada and Paul were the final runners over the line.

One new personal best was recorded this week. Congratulations to Stephen for taking 1 minute and 36 seconds off his previous best time. Atsuko was the only other runner within 15 seconds of her PB, so these two runners were the only ones awarded bonus points this week.

The next run will be on Saturday 28 February, with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
