Run 713

This morning saw nine runners start in the run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra. Many thanks to Colin for coming along and doing the time-keeping duties this week.

Only one person took on the 2 km distance this week: Paul with his dogs. In the longer, handicapped distances, once the handicaps were applied, we saw Margaret finish first in a very well-timed run today, coming in just two seconds after the 30 minute mark. Atsuko was in second position, only two more seconds behind, with Dave and Jon coming in third and fourth places respectively just five seconds apart. Nada took out fifth place, and Sandi was in sixth. Tony and Jozica were the last runners over the line this week.

There were three personal best times recorded this week: Margaret took another 28 seconds off her previous PB and Atsuko and Dave both took two seconds off theirs. One other runner was within 15 seconds of their personal best time: well run Jon.

Next week there will be NO RUN for the Easter weekend, and our next run will be on Saturday 26 April with the timer starting at 7:30 am. This will be the final run of Season 46.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 712

It was a chilly 4 degrees as we began our run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra this week after an extra hour's sleep thanks to daylight savings time ending. Many thanks to Colin for coming along to do the time-keeping duties for the seven runners who braved the conditions.

Once the handicaps were added on to times, it was Margaret who was the first runner over the line today, but she came in before the 30 minute mark and has been classed as a breaker this week. That left the win open to Jon, who came in just after 30 minutes, followed closely by Atsuko, Dave and Paul all within 30 seconds. Nada was not too far back in fifth place, and Jozica was the final runner over the line this week.

There were two personal best times recorded this week: congratulations to Jon, who took 21 seconds off his previous 5 km best, and Margaret who continues to improve her times week-on-week. Two other runners were within 15 seconds of their PBs: well run to Atsuko and Dave.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 12 April with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any time during the season.
