Run 731

It was a milder morning at about 8°C as five starters set off along the banks of the Birrarung/Yarra. Thanks, as always, to Nada for running early and once again taking on the timekeeping duties.

There were some very close finishes today as we near the end of the season. Atsuko claimed first place, with Paul just four seconds behind. Dave finished third, seven seconds ahead of Nada, with Tony only ten seconds behind her.

Paul managed to beat his Personal Best by one second. No one else was within 15 seconds of their PB this week.

Next Saturday, 30 August, will be the final run of the season. We’ll have a mass start at 7:30 am, with handicaps applied to results after the race.

New runners and walkers are always welcome—feel free to join us at any time during the season!

Run 729 and 730

Run 729

It was a chilly morning for our weekly run along the banks of the Birrarung/Yarra through Warrandyte, with just three starters this week. A big thank you to Nada, who continues to run early so she can take on the timekeeping duties most weeks.

With only three participants and Nada having already completed her run, we decided not to start based on handicap times. Instead, these were added afterward. This saw Paul take out the win—just one second ahead of Jon—with Nada finishing in third place.

No one managed a personal best this week, and no one finished within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 730

The rain held off for this week's run, although the riverside track remained damp. Six runners took part in our Warrandyte circuit. Thanks again to Nada for running early and managing the timekeeping.

Paul was first across the line again this week, followed closely by James—just six seconds behind. Sandi ran well into third, just ahead of Dave in fourth. Atsuko and Nada rounded out the field, finishing just eight seconds apart.

As with last week, no one achieved a personal best, and no one finished within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next Week’s Run

The next run will be held on Saturday, 23 August, with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and walkers are welcome to join at any stage during the season!

Thunderball Gala – Tonight!

The “Thunderball” Gala Ball is on tonight (16 August), raising funds for the Manningham SES. Two of our regular runners, Sandi and Margaret, have played a major role on the organising committee, and we wish them every success for the event.

The evening will feature a silent auction, which is also available online. There are many great items up for grabs, including vouchers for OlivignaEmber, and Beasley’s Nursery, and wine packs from Kellybrook.
