Run 406

There were 15 people ready to start the runs along the Yarra River in Warrandyte on Saturday, and the group welcomed another new member, Daniel. Thanks to Jacinta for running early this week and doing the timekeeping for us.

Once all of the handicaps had been applied and sorted out, the winner of this week's run was Mark, who managed to get over the line only seconds after the 30 minute mark. He was followed by Tessa and Cormick, only two seconds apart, and then Peter and Kieran, separated by only 7 seconds. Daniel and Catherine were tied for sixth position and Randall was just behind them. Nada and Louanna were in ninth and tenth spots respectively, and Jacinta, Adrienne and Jozica rounded out the runners in the longer runs. Paul and Alice ran the 2 km course this week.

There were two runners who managed to run their chosen distance in a personal best time this week. Congratulations to:
Mark who beat his previous best time by 53 seconds; and
Cormick who managed to come in 12 seconds ahead of his previous best.

One other runner was within 15 seconds of their PB time:
Well run, Kieran.

This week, the run will be on Thursday night at 6:30pm due to Run Warrandyte on Sunday this week.

Randall won the socks from last week and drew out the winning number for this week: 9 - so the socks go to Nada!

Newe runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 405

It was a lovely morning for a run along the banks of the Yarra River in Warrandyte this morning, and 15 people took off over 2, 3, 4 or 5km courses in our run today. It was good to see Kieran and Cormick back again for their second run, and Imogen and Alice returned after a break.

The pace was fast today over the longer distances and Jacinta managed to take out the win this morning only seconds after the 30 minute mark. Peter managed to hold Tahlia off by just one second, and Randall was close behind to take out fourth position. Nada came in fifth, only seconds ahead of Cormick and Kieran. Imogen managed eighth place only two seconds ahead of Tessa, who was two seconds ahead of Atsuko. Jozica and Louanna came in at the same time and Adrienne was the last person over the line today.

In the 2 km run, Alice held on to come in first, and Harrison was second over the line.

There were six Personal Best times recorded today:
Randall continues to improve each week and beat his previous best by 3 seconds,
Imogen beat her previous PB by 4 seconds,
Tahlia was 10 seconds faster than she has run before,
Kieran managed to come in 17 seconds better than last week,
Cormick beat his previous PB by 24 seconds, and
Alice took a whopping 1 minute and 30 seconds off her previous best 2 km time.

Well done to all of you!!

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their personal best time.

In the following week we will run on Thursday evening (1 March) at 6:30 pm as the Run Warrandyte will be on the Sunday which is the day we would normally run.

Run 404

There were 16 starters this week, including three new runners. We welcome to the group Kieran, Cormack and Evie and hope to see you running with us again. Thanks to Nada for running early and keeping the times this week. Thanks again to Quinton's Supa IGA for providing a box of fruit each week.

Margaret was the only person to take on the shorter course this week and she continues to run consistently over the 2 km distance. In the longer (handicapped) distances there were two people who came in before the 30 minute mark this week, breaking and not getting the maximum points, Tahlia and Randall. This left the win open for Monica, who managed a beautifully timed run and came in just 6 seconds after the 30 minute mark. Only seconds behind her was Jacinta. Paul just kept ahead of Peter and Atsuko. New runners, Kieran, Cormack and Evie all had a handicap added to bring them in at the 31 minute mark in 6th position. Nada was next, just ahead of Adrienne. Tessa, Jozica and Harrison rounded out the field today.

There were three personal best times recorded this morning:
Monica beat her previous 5 km PB by 24 seconds,
Randall was 40 seconds ahead of his previous PB time, and
Tahlia took a massive 1 minute and 17 seconds off her PB.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

We have decided to reinstate the raffle draw for a pair of socks, and Jozica drew out number 11. The 11th person on the list this week is Nada - congratulations on winning a pair of socks!

Next week the run will be on Saturday 17 February at 7:00 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 403

There were 15 starters for the run this morning and we welcomed a new runner, Mark S, to the group. Thanks to Jacinta for running early and being time-keeper for us this morning.

It was as very fast pace out the front of the field today and there were three breakers (coming in before the 30 minute mark. Monica was first over the line, followed closely by Randall and Nada. The first person over the line after 30 minutes today was Atsuko, meaning that she has taken out the maximum points for her run today. In a fairly close finish for the front of the pack, Peter managed second place, with Louanna, Paul and Mark (after his handicap was added) just behind. Tessa held on to finish ahead of Dennis And Jozica, Jacinta and Amelia rounded out the field in the longer distances. In the non-handicapped 2 km course, Margaret was the first person home and Jon walked the distance this morning.

There were 3 Personal Best times recorded today:
Monica beat her previous 5 km best by 18 seconds,
Randall beat his previous PB by 1 minute and 22 seconds, and
Atsuko beat her previous best time by 3 seconds.
Great running to all of you!

One other person was within 15 seconds of their PB:
Well run Nada.
