Run 421, 422 and 423

Sorry it has taken a while to get around to posting about the last few weeks, but here they are:

Run 421
It was a bit crazy this morning with 18 runners meeting by the river to run 2, 3, 4 or 5 km.

In the 2 km distance, there were two people who ran: Rachel and Mark. In the longer distances, after handicaps were adjusted for starting at different times, it was Paul who came in first, just after the 30 minute mark. Atsuko and Henry could not be separated on the finish line and came in equal second, just ahead of Daniel and Jacinta. Renee was next in ahead of Matthew, Peter and Adrienne.Robert and Jon were next followed by Catherine and Harrison. The last three in were Jozica, Nada and Tessa.

There were two Personal Best times recorded today:
Henry beat his previous 3 km best time by 8 seconds,
and Mark beat his 2 km best by 58 seconds.

Atsuko was the only other person within 15 seconds of their PB.

The random number drawn this week was 9 meaning Adrienne wins the socks this week.

Run 422
This morning we welcomed Li-Ern to the group for her first run with us and we hope to see her again, soon. There were 14 runners in total competing today.

Rachel ran too quickly, coming in well before the 30 minute mark and breaking this week. That left the win open for big brother, Matthew, with Daniel just behind him. Li-Ern managed a good pace over the 3 km distance and with her handicap added, came in third place, only one second ahead of Jozica, who in turn was two seconds ahead of Paul, with Atsuko nipping at his heels. Harrison was next just ahead of Kieren, Mark and Cormick. Peter and Tessa rounded out the field this week.

There were two personal best times recorded this week:
Matthew was 27 seconds ahead of his previous PB,
Rachel cut a huge 5 minutes and 5 seconds off her previous best.

Daniel was the only other person within 15 seconds of their PB.

The random number drawn this week was 3, meaning that Daniel wins the socks this week.

Run 423
It was a cold morning that saw 12 runners starting in the run along the river this week.

Daniel was first over the line in a well-timed first place. Second place went to Matthew who was just ahead of Atsuko. Peter and Louanna came in within three seconds of each other. Paul managed sixth position ahead of Nada and Jacinta. Tessa, Jon and Harrison were the last runners in the main field. Rachel was the only runner to take on the 2 km course this week.

There were no PBs recorded this week and no-one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

The random number this week was 11, so Harrison collects the socks.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 30 June at 7:30 pm.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 420

Another cold morning for the first run in Winter this year. Thanks very much to Jacinta for running early and doing the timekeeping for us this morning.

There were three runners in the shorter 2 km distance today: Paul, Jacinta and Alice. In the longer distances, Randall was first over the line after the 30 minute mark for his first win this season. Nada was nipping at his heels, but couldn't catch up in the final metres. Mark and Atsuko were fighting it out for third position, with Mark being the eventual leader. Rachel managed fifth spot ahead of Kieran, Daniel and Cormick. Louanna,, Peter and Tessa rounded out the field for the run today.

There were three runners who ran their Personal Best time over their chosen distances this morning:
Mark was 13 seconds than his previous PB,
Randall took 18 seconds off his previous best time, and
Paul managed to take 33 seconds off his previous 2 km best.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB this week.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 9 June at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

The random number chosen this week was 12, meaning Paul wins the socks.
