Run 63 - Final run of Season 4

Well the last run for Season 4 has been run and won.  I always love to see so many people start off together and race towards the first turn.  It has been another great season for Warrandyte River Runners and thank you to everyone for making it such a fabulous event.

Today's results will be announced at our presentation breakfast on Saturday 14th May, held directly after the run, about 8:15am at the bbq's near the start/finish hut.

Season 5 will kick off next Sunday as it is market weekend and we will move into our winter timeslot of 8:00am (for Sunday, Saturday's will be 7:30am).

See you next weekend on Sunday 8th May at 8:00am.

Jodi

PS: Thanks to Anthony for providing me with a spectacular photo of this morning's sunrise.

Congratulations, Steve! This week it was Steve's turn to cross the line first after the 30 minute mark, within 15 seconds of his PB, therefore taking out 18 points. Well done.

It was an interesting mass start this morning with minimal tripping, elbowing and sledging. We saw 5 PB's recorded and a further 2 within 15 seconds of their PB.

This week's PB's;
Reuben - 5 minutes 10 seconds
Doug - 1 minute 29 seconds
Meghann - 41 seconds
Marianne - 13 seconds

Good luck to those participating in the Run for the Kids tomorrow. I hope you get good weather conditions and it's not too crowded (yeah right!).

Next weekend is Easter so we will have a week off from River Runners and reconvene for the last run of the season on Saturday 30th April for our final mass start. At this stage presentations will be held at a breakfast after the run on Saturday 14th May.

I wish you all a happy and safe Easter and see you at the next run on Saturday 30th April at 7:00am sharp.

See you down by the hut.

Run 61

Congratulations Peter. Peter was the first to cross the line after the 30 minute mark, with a personal best time, therefore taking out the maximum 20 points. Well, almost. Because the consistency ladder only takes into account your best 10 runs for the season, for those who have run 11 times this season, their lowest score drops off.

We saw 4 PB's recorded this week and another 3 came within 15 seconds of theirs.

This week's PB's;
Amanda - 1 minute 50 seconds
David C - 22 seconds
Owen - 16 seconds
Peter - 4 seconds

Within 15 seconds of their PB;
Anne Marie
Anthony
Lucia

Well done to everyone, welcome to Will, and a very big thank you to Rob for managing the run for me while I was unwell.

I need to say the very biggest congratulations to our Warrandyte River Runners who took part in the massive Marysville to Melbourne event on Sunday 10th April. Rob, Anthony, Reuben and Roger all put in a tremendous effort and covered 150kms running, cycling and paddling, in just over 10 hours.

Next week is the 2nd last run of Season 4 so it will be a MASS START. Everyone will be starting together at 7:00am sharp. So you need to make sure you are on time or you will miss the start of the run.

Next week's run will be on Saturday 16th April 2011 at 7:00am sharp for everyone for a mass start.

See you down by the hut.
