Run 437

It felt cold down along the river this morning for the eight people who showed up for the run. Thanks to Jacinta for doing the timings this morning.

Jacinta took on a 2 km course this morning, and Cormick started on the longer run, but didn't manage to finish and has been allocated a 2 km time. In the longer distances it was Adrienne who was first over the line after the 30 minute mark today, followed by Alicia and Kieran. Li-Ern put in a good run to come in fourth and Paul and Randall went out slowly and were last over the line.

There were no personal best times recorded this morning, and only one person within 15 seconds of their PB:
well run in the 2 km distance, Cormick.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 7 October at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 436

It was a lovely morning for a run along the banks of the Yarra this weekend and we had 13 starters in our competition this week, running or walking 2, 3, 4 or 5 km. Thanks to Nada for running early and then doing the time-keeping and thanks also for collecting the fabulous fruit tray from Quinton's IGA each week.

There were several people out walking this morning: Daniel, Mark and Randall (and Alison). In the longer, handicapped distances, it was Kieran who was first over the line after the 30 minute mark today, followed by Cormick  who ended up just 1 second ahead of Matthew, with Atsuko only 4 seconds back. Nada came in fifth, ahead of Paul and Harrison. Jozica, Li-Ern (with a very unhelpful dog this week), and Jacinta were the last runners in.

There was one personal best time recorded this week:
Congratulations to Daniel for beating his previous PB by 1 second.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 29 September at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

The lucky number drawn this week was 10, meaning Jacinta wins the socks.

Run 435

The mornings are starting to warm up and we managed to get the run in before the rain started on Saturday. We welcomed Genevieve to the group this week and hope to see her back again soon. Thanks to Jacinta for doing the timing this week.

In the shorter (2 km) distance, there were four runners/walkers, with Henry the first runner back followed any Genevieve, Jacinta and Mark. In the longer, handicapped, runs the first over the line today was Niels but he again ran too quickly coming in before the 30 minute mark and breaking. That left the win open for Matthew, closely followed by Alicia and Paul. Catherine ran into fourth position ahead of Daniel and Nada in sixth. Atsuko was next over the line this week. Robert, Tessa, Jozica and Monica were the last to finish today.

There were four personal best times recorded today:
Niels took an amazing 1 minute and 56 seconds off his previous PB,
Matthew continues to improve, taking another 53 seconds off his best time,
Alicia, in her first run back after a break, took another 5 seconds off her previous best, and
Henry sprinted out in the 2 km distance taking 48 seconds off his best time.

One person was within 15 seconds of their PB:
well walked this week to Mark.

After the run we had the presentation for last season. In the junior section the winner was Matthew (98 points from 14 runs) with the runner up being Daniel (37 points from 15 runs).

In the open section, Atsuko took out the season with 125 points from 15 runs while Matthew came second with 98 points from 14 runs.

Only one person managed all 17 runs for the season - congratulations to Jacinta.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 22 September at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 434

Another cold morning saw 14 people down for a run or walk along the banks of the Yarra. Thanks to Nada for running early and doing the timekeeping this week.

In the 2 km distance Rachel was first over the line, followed by Mark, Jacinta and Li-Ern with her dogs. In the longer distances after handicaps were added on to times Harrison was the first person in, but before the 30 minute mark so he broke by 4 seconds this week. That left the win this week open for Matthew. Paul was in second only two seconds ahead of Kieran who was just ahead of Daniel. Cormick managed fifth place one second ahead of Nada and not very far ahead of Jon (with Cinnamon). Peter (with Max) and Atsuko rounded out the field this week.

There were two personal best times recorded this week:
Well run to Matthew who took 45 seconds off his previous 3 km best,
and to Rachel who took a massive 2 minutes and 21 seconds off her previous 2 km PB.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 15 September at 7:30 am. We will be presenting the winners of last season with their trophies, medals and prizes at the conclusion of the run.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

The random number drawn this week was 14, meaning Li-Ern wins the socks.

Run 433

It was a very cold Father's Day morning that saw 7 starters in the run this week. Thanks to Atsuko for coming down to do the timing.

Harrison was the only person running the shorter (2 km) distance this week. In the longer distances it was a win to Li-Ern in a perfectly timed run, coming in just seconds after the 30 minute mark and earning maximum points in the first run of the new season. Paul was in second place this week, ahead of Nada, with Jon not too far behind. Peter and Tessa were the final competitors over the line.

There was one personal best time recorded this week:
well run Li-Ern for taking another 24 seconds off her previous PB at the 4 km distance.

No-one else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 8 September at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
