Run 244

It was a beautiful morning for a run or walk and we saw most of our "regulars" out for this morning's run, along with Margaret returning for a 2km walk and Trudy joined us from Warrnambool for a 5km run.

The good weather seems to have spurred the women on as Jozica and Atsujo both broke, coming in before the 30 minute mark and Trudy managed to take out a win in her first run.

A couple of Personal Best times were recorded this morning:

Atsuko: 1 second
Jozica: 39 seconds

There was lots of interest from our Facebook page, but it didn't convert into new members this morning. Maybe we will see some new people join us early in 2015.

New walkers and runners are welcome at any stage in the season.

Next run is on Saturday 4 January at 7:00am. Look forward to seeing lots of people there.

Run 243

It was a very small turnout for the end-of-season mass start with only three runners:Jozica, Jon and yours truly. The "officials" almost outnumbered the runners with Atsuko and Steve along to help out with the time keeping.

As it was the final run, I don't want to give away too much about the placings until the presentation day in a few week's time. I won't update the results until after the presentations - even though I think we all know who won this season!

I will, however, let you know that Jozica ran a PB. Beating her previous best by 23 seconds! Great running, Joz.

Next season starts on Saturday next week! Everyone is welcome to come down and run or walk off some of those Christmas kilos.

Wishing you all and your families a very Merry Christmas from Warrandyte River Runners.

Next run on Saturday 28 December at 7:00am.

New runners and walkers always welcome.

Regards,

Paul

Run 242

It was a lovely morning for a run, and with fewer starters there were easy points up for grabs. It turned out to be a close finish to the event with most of the runners coming in within 30 seconds of each other. Congratulations to Jozica who held off Steve to come in first.

It was Jodi and Rob's last run with the group before moving off to Queensland next week. We all wish them all the best in their new venture and we know that they will be missed!

There were no PBs today and no-one was within 15 seconds.

Next week is another market weekend in Warrandyte and is the final run for season 15 so we look forward to seeing anyone who can come down to run or walk for a mass start at 7:30am on Sunday 21 December

Regards,

Paul

Run 241

It was a wet morning, but that didn't stop quite a few people coming out for the run. The rain may have slowed everyone down a bit, though with no PBs and no-one within 15 seconds.

Jon ran well for another win, followed in by Atsuko.

I have taken over "control" of the blog site today, so things may look a bit different as I get used to what I am supposed to be doing and how it all works.

The next run is Saturday 13 December 2014 at 7:00am.

Run 240

A slightly smaller crowd with a tie for first place. Well done to Nada and Steve who were closely followed by Jozica.

I am just glad that I start early so people aren't waiting for me.

The next run is Sunday 7 December 2014 at 7:30am.

The market is on Saturday, so don't forget to look for your Xmas pressies or just stock up on your food items for the week.

Run 239

I want to thank everyone for showing up for last weekends run. It was great to get together for a bit of Xmas feasting.

Jodi, myself and the family also want to thank you for your well wishes as we move to QLD in a few weeks.

It has been an outstanding 4 years running the event down by the river and we will miss everyone we have met through the run including the different people we pass each morning.

I also want to thank those that have put up their hand to continue the event and I will work with them to handover the details.

There were 22 people participating and it was great to see Pete again after he managed to spare some time out of a very hectic schedule. Appreciate your assistance with the time keeping especially with so many participants. Great work.

With a few people finishing under the 30 minute mark - Alan, Janette, Jozica and Lewis the win was left open for Jarrah after he has taken some time out for other sporting commitments on the weekend. Nicely done.
He was followed closely by Alex C and Atsuko.

There were a number of PBs:

David D - 2 minutes 4 seconds
Alan - 1 minute 58 seconds
Jarrah - 26 seconds
Owen C - 12 seconds
Alex C 10 seconds
Janette - 9 seconds
Caitlin F - 2 seconds

The thought of breakfast obviously brought the best out of everyone.

I hope to see you all again this Saturday 29 November 2014 at 7:00am

All new runners and walkers are welcome.

Run 236, 237 and 238

A massive thanks to Nada for taking on the run coordinator role over the last 2 weeks. Great work.

Run 236 saw Paul take out a win followed by Nada and Jozica. It was great to see Caitlin run her first 5ks since starting with us. Well done and thanks for testing Nada out on her timekeeping.

Run 236 saw Steve take out the win followed by Atsuko and Nada.

Run 237 - I met up with Nada to run and get a quick handover before the commencement of today's event. She ran the 5k early and as I didn't have an updated timesheet she also decided to run a further 3k with everyone else. I was definitely put to shame.

Jon had a win this week, I don't know how he does it with cinnamon running with him each week. Great effort. This has placed him at the top of the ladder overtaking Nada for the first time this season. I believe it was equal standings prior to my leave. Jon was followed by Paul and Nada. I was lucky last after a couple of weeks off.

I also cannot forget to mention Barbara who continues to come out and join us. Barbara hit the 50 run milestone this week.

Also worth a mention is Steve who this week hit the 100 run mark.

Well done to you both it is an achievement to get to these milestones. We can celebrate a bit more at the breakfast next weekend.

Next run will be Sunday 24 November 2014 at 7:30am due to our Xmas celebration. All are welcome. We will run and then head up for breakfast.

Run 235

It was a great morning for a run.

Congratulations to Paul on his 100th run. A great achievement as he is one of only 5 that have achieved this.

The run this morning was taken out by Alex who timed it well to stay out in front. He was followed by Steve and Paul.

Jon has shot up the consistency ladder and currently ties with Nada on the top. This is shaping up to be a good contest.

Good luck to those running the Hurstbridge run this morning.

Next run is Sunday 2nd November 2014 at 7:30am due to the markets being on.

Good luck to all and thank you to Nada in advance who will be timekeeping.

Rob.

Run 234

Very quiet morning with only 4 runners.

Well done to Jon who has shot up the consistency ladder with a comfortable win. Doug finished second and Nada in third.

Thanks to Nada who did the timekeeping.

Next run is Saturday 25 October 2014 at 7:00am.

Hope to see you there as the weather starts to warm up.

Run 232 and 233

A couple of beautiful spring mornings over the last 2 weeks.

Last week saw the presentations for season 14 with Nada taking out the honours for most consistent followed by Paul and then Steve. For the kids it was Caitlin taking away the trophy and Jarrah coming in as runner up. Well done to all the participants as the winter season is always the hardest to stay motivated through.

The run itself saw Doug take out a win with Atsuko and Caitlin fighting it out for second and third. It was a good finish to watch.

This week though it was very nice of everyone to let yours truly win on his 200th run. After weeks and weeks of taking it easy I finally got a chance to take out a win. Don't worry though, due to the win, my handicap has caught back up with me. With a few early starters this meant it was hard to judge your timing as Nada picked up 2nd place and John cruising across the line, did so in 3rd.

Whilst there were no PBs this week, there are a number of milestones coming up, so keep an eye out. Paul is closest to his next milestone being on 99 runs.

Next run is Saturday 18 October 2014 at 7:00am.

See you there.

Rob

Run 230 and 231

Easy points for anyone showing up over the school holidays - even for me.

Last week saw Nada take out the win over Jon. This meant her handicap for this week needed to be adjusted.

With a few more runners this week and a nice sunny spring day we saw Caitlin pick up a well deserved win. This has shot her well up the consistency rankings. Well done. Caitlin was closely followed by Nada and Doug, however this was prior to the handicap adjustment.

I should also mention that both Lewis and Miles did the 100 metre dash to the large tree and back with Lewis just taking out the honours.

We will conduct the award presentations at the next run which will be held on Sunday at 7:30am. Remember this is the start of daylight savings so remember to wind your clocks forward an hour before heading off to bed.

Next run Sunday 5 October 2014 at 7:30am.

All new runners and walkers are welcome.

Run 229

It was another cold morning for our run.

A welcome to Thomas who came all the way from Warrnambool to join us for the morning's run. Thanks to Owen K for showing him the course.

It was a fairly matched start this morning with a number of runners all starting off around the same time. This meant they were able to keep an eye on each other and plan their move on the first spot. The winner this week was Atsuko with a PB of 5 seconds .Well done. Nada came second and Jozica third also with a PB.

For the 2k runners both Lewis and Owen K ran PBs obviously to keep warm. Lewis - 1 minute 21 seconds and Owen K 32 seconds.

A reminder to everyone that the start time has changed.

Next run is Saturday 20 September 2014 at 7:00am.

I also need to apologise as I won't be around this weekend for the run. I will see if someone can run the event for me. It will also mean a postponement of the presentations. Sorry.

Remember all new runners are welcome.

Run 228

It was nice to see a number of Dads out this morning working up an appetite. The mouth was watering just thinking about the beautiful breakfasts being prepared for Father's Day. Our place was no exception.

This week was the first run of the new season and whilst a little chilly it was a beautiful morning. As spring is in the air we saw some fast times with Paul and Alex producing PBs to unfortunately come in under the 30 minutes. This meant Jon took out the win for the first run. 2nd went to myself and 3rd position went to Nada.

Welcome back to Amanda who is recovering from injury. I know very much how she feels at the moment.

I won't have the medals ready for next week so will aim for the week after, being the 20th. Well done to Nada who took out top honours for season 14. Paul K taking out 2nd and Steve K taking out 3rd. For the youngsters Caitlin took out the win with Jarrah in 2nd place.

Great effort everyone.

PBs
Alex C - 39 seconds
Paul K - 11 seconds

Jozica within 15 seconds.

Next run is Saturday 13 September 2014 at 7:00am. Please note the new time for spring.

All new runners and walkers are welcome.

Run 227

It was a much better morning for a run with a large turnout for the end of the season.
It was good to see Niels back and testing out a different distance. We also saw Ollie, Lewis, Miles, Owen and Steven G all out for the mass start.
The mass start events are always an interesting one to determine whether I have started to fast or maybe not fast enough.
The dash to the first turn around and back was taken out by Lewis (sorry no additional points) and closely followed by Jon. Owen was the first over the line before handicaps were adjusted and he was followed by Paul.

I think the warm weather of Qld does Doug very well as after a stint in the beautiful north he has come back with a nice win. This is the second time so I am not sure whether he is secretly training or the rest and relaxation is the key. After all the adjustments, both Caitlin and Owen broke and Atsuko and Paul were so close to Doug it would have been interesting to see the actual finish if it was a handicap start.
PBs
Paul K - 4 seconds
Owen - 14 seconds
Atsuko was within 15 seconds
Next run Sunday 7th September 2014 at 7:30am.

Socks to Niels.

Run 223 to 226

It has been a while since I have updated the blog.

It has not meant that we have stopped in anyway and in fact for a cold winters day this week we had a great turn out.

I would like to welcome Niels who came to run with is for the first time on one of the colder mornings. If you can run in those conditions it will only get easier so we hope to see you there more often.

On my last post I asked if anyone could catch Nada. This put the challenge out there and Paul after returning from injury has done a stellar effort winning 3 of the last 4 events with 2 of those as PBs. This weeks run being 9 seconds faster than last weeks new PB of 6 seconds. Definitely back on the road to recovery.

Whilst he has returned from injury this has meant shorter distances which means overall points are impacted. Curious about the impact of the rules I looked at removing all the rules and viewed the points. In this instance there would only be 2 points in it.

Nada to her credit has continued to be consistent in her runs with a number of 2nd and 3rd placings. Great effort. I also need to mention Atsuko and Jozica who are also taking out a number of points with top placings each week.

The days are getting longer and warmer so there should be no excuses for getting out for a graceful glide by the river.

Next weekend is the last run for the season and will be a mass start. We hope to see you there.

Next run is Saturday 30th August 2014 at 7:30am.

Run 222

Can anyone catch Nada????

Slightly warmer this morning saw only a few contenders and a few dogs. First placing went to Nada with Caitlin coming in second. Chantelle was spot on with a new PB over the 2k. beating her previous time by 27 seconds.

I forgot to mention that Atsuko completed her 50 runs last week and Caitlin will complete her 50th run next time she runs. Well done.

I won't be there next week and Steve has offered to assist. Thanks. I will back the following week to cover the 50 runners achievements.

Next run Sunday 3rd August 2014 at 8:00am. August already wow. Next Saturday is market weekend if you are looking for some great gifts or food.

Remember all newcomers are welcome.

Run 219, 220 and 221

I am back and a huge thanks to Steven and Peter for running things whilst I was away.

It is definitely cooler these days and numbers are showing this, so if you are after easy points I suggest getting out for a run. I know it is the only way I can get any.

Run 219 saw Paul take out the win just ahead of Nada and Jozica with points for all who attended.

Run 220 saw Nada take out a convincing win with Olie and Jozica closing in for second and third. Again points for all who attended.

And lastly...... Run 221 was a cool morning with a very light drizzle of rain. This didn't stop the keener runners from getting out and I must say a little dirty. The finish looked a little more like tough mudder as people compared their running styles by the amount of mud up the back.

It was determined that Jozica was the lightest runner of all of us.

With a wet track this didn't stop the competition in anyway as the banter started even before the run, with the women outnumbering the men. This at least evened up as Peter arrived. Phew!!!

While they had the numbers and after additions of handicaps it was the guys (Steve actually) that took first place, however the girls still hold top place on the consistency ladder as Nada continues true to form with a run into second place, closely followed by Atsuko. So 1 out of the top three wasn't bad.

Well done to everyone and I admit I missed the fun when I was away.

No PBs this week due to the wet and slightly slippery conditions.

Next run Saturday 26 July 2014 at 7:30am. The mornings are definitely starting to get a little brighter.

Don't forget keep running and enjoy. Everyone is welcome.

Run 217 and 218

Run 217 was a great turn out with Alex F just pipping Barbara and Chantelle across the line for the 2k honours and Jarrah breaking by a long way over the 3k distance. This left it wide open for Jozica to take out the win by the barest of margins.

There were a couple of PBs and few very close so check out the results via the link.

Run 218 was a little quieter as people have taken off to warmer climates (Guess where I am??). This meant points for all. It was a mass start as I had forgotten the time sheet. When all the handicap adjustments were entered it was a close race for first and second. Well done to Peter for taking out the win.

The next run is Sunday 6 July 2014 at 8:00am due to the Warrandyte market occurring on Saturday. Don't forget to head down to the market for a coffee, your fruit and vegies or even gifts, gift wrapping or cards. Heaps of food and treats.

Run 216

A great morning for a run.

Firstly I must mention that Paul ran a PB last week and was missed this morning. This left the run open for Nada, who true to form blitzed the field by running a very consistent time and taking out the win. I tried my hardest, but only made 2nd. Peter came in 3rd with everyone else coming in close behind.

Barbara continues to blitz the 2k course coming down to enjoy the river and support Caitlin.

David unfortunately missed the 2k turn and ended up running the full 5ks. Well done and I hope you are not to sore tomorrow.

There were no PBs this week.

Next run is Saturday 21 June 2014 at 7:30am. The days will end up getting shorter after next weeks run.

Everyone is welcome.

Run 215

Well, I go away for one weekend and we have a tie on top of the consistency ladder.

This week's run was a mass start with Paul crossing the line first, closely followed by Nada after all the adjustments were made.

A huge thanks to Paul for organising the run in my absence.

The next run is this Saturday 14 June 2014 at 7:30am.

New runners and walkers are always welcome.

Run 214

It was a great morning for running. We saw a couple of returned faces with Daniel and Owen back for a run. Owen set everyone off and took off over the 2k course with Lyn helping out capturing times. Thank you.

The finish was very competitive with Paul just pipping Nada on the line and David following closely behind.

Both Daniel and David ran quick and fast after taking on new distances. Great work on the new times.

The next run is Sunday 8 June 2014 at 8:00am due to the market on this weekend.

I won't be available this weekend, however there have been a couple of offers to look after things.

Have a great weekend and remember everyone is welcome.

Rob

Socks go to Barbara.

Run 213

It was a little cooler for the run after a slightly warmer week, however that didn't stop everyone from getting out for a run.

This week saw Alex sneak up on Steve right before the line. Steve had to run hard to fend him off, winning by the barest of margins. It would have been 100ths of seconds if we timed to that level. Unfortunately we don't and Steve took out the win a head of Alex and Paul.

Alex is in training for his Cross Country this week. Good Luck.

Lewis competed in his Cross Country recently coming 3rd which is a great effort.

There were 2 PBs
Alex - 11 seconds
Steve - 4 seconds

Next run is Saturday 31 May 2014 at 7:30am.

All new runners and walkers welcome.

Rob

Sunday, May 18, 2014

Run 212

Thank you to Steve and Peter for doing the time keeping.

It was a beautiful morning and made even better as we celebrated with the winners of season 13. There was special mention of 10 new runners that joined us last season, welcome, and also of Nada and Alex achieving their 50 runs and Marianne who achieved 100 runs. Great effort.

This left us to mention the winners with Peter taking out top spot, closely followed by Margaret. For the kids event there was Jarrah taking out the consistency honours and Alex as the runner up. Not to mention last seasons winner Caitlin came in a close third.

This week kept the time keepers on their toes as they set everyone off at a nice leisurely pace and then kicked back to catch up on the week's happenings. The runners had other ideas though as 4 came in within a second of each other. (1 started earlier and was adjusted to their normal start time if you are looking at the results). The rest of the field not far behind. The handicaps obviously work.

This meant for the close finish that Jarrah was first across the line, followed by Jon, Alex and myself.

It was fun this morning so thank you to everyone.

Next run is Saturday 24 May 2014 at 7:30am.

Everyone is welcome.

Rob

Run 211

Well the Saturday before Mother's day saw a very wet morning that kept a number of people indoors. The rain did stop part way through the run though which was nice.

It was therefore easy points for the three of us that showed up and actually ran. We had slightly slower times due to the wet conditions which is expected.

After a mass start and handicap adjustments Dennis took out first place, closely followed by myself and then Nada. All podium finishers.

I want to wish all the Mum's a happy Mother's Day and hopefully you are pampered beyond all expectations. Start the day with breakfast in bed and finish it with a glass of bubbly. If you get a run in all and good otherwise rest days are just as important. Enjoy.

I have been told the medals, etc will be ready early next week, so we will be doing the presentations on Saturday 17 May for season 13 so I hope to see you all there.

Next run is Saturday 17 May 2014 at 7:30am. Presentations will follow the run.

Have a great week.

Rob

Run 210

This was the first run of season 14, with our new winter timeslot.

With David breaking under the 30 minute mark this allowed the ladies to dominate the top 3 spots with Nada taking out first place ahead of Atsuko and Jozica.

It was good to see Lou back and with us for another season. For the 2k event Lyn was first back across the line with Alex finishing next across the line. Well Done.

There were a few PBs listed below.

PBs
Alex F - 3 minutes 39 seconds
David D - 1 minute 6 seconds
Chantelle - 1 minute 5 seconds
Lyn D - Equal PB

Next run Saturday 10 May 2014 at 7:30pm.

Hope to see you all there next weekend.

Run 208 and Season Final Run 209

I hope everyone had a great Easter and Anzac Day weekend.

Run 208 saw a great turnout for the start of the school holidays. Everyone trying to gain some bonus points before getting into those wonderful chocolate eggs. Well what else do we run for chocolate and wine.

The run saw a couple of very good times with Jon taking out the win along with a PB of 19 seconds. He was closely followed by Paul who also ran a PB of 13 seconds. Third for the day was Nada. We also had Chantelle and Alex join us for the 2k with a very talkative German Shepherd.

With a break in between, Run 209 saw the end to our 13th season. We had a mass start and after all the handicap calculations Jarrah broke yet again with another PB, leaving yours truly to take out the win. Thanks for letting me take one out. I was followed closely by Caitlin and Atsuko.

This means that Peter takes out another season with Margaret taking out second place. She did this after stepping up to the 4k distance and incurring the additional handicap for the first few runs. Well done to our first and second placers. For the kids points well done to Jarrah who picks up the first place after becoming a regular.

Congratulations and we will organise the presentations in a couple of weeks when the medals and trophy are ready.

PBs
Jarrah - 48 seconds

Next run is Sunday 4 May 2014 at the new time of 8:00am due to the markets and change to winter times. The next run will be the start of the new winter season - 14.

Hope to see you all there.

Rob.

Socks for run 208 went to Stephen G.

Run 207

With only 2 runs left for the season there wasn't much change at the top of the table even with the absence of a few key people.

It was good to see a number of people out an about and after a little confusion with the time due to daylight savings we managed a beautiful morning of running.

Steve had a great run as he leads up to the half marathon in Geelong in a couple of weeks. He took out the win after Janette broke. Nada was not far behind and after the time adjustment due to an earlier start Alan took out the third placing.

Both Alan and Janette are heading overseas in a few months to talk about their achievements on a strictly RAW Vegan diet. It has been a great inspiration having them join us and a great achievement to be asked to present at the event. Well done.

Alan was the only one within 15 seconds of his PB.

The next run is on Saturday 12 April 2014 at 7:00am. We will have a break on the Easter Weekend as everyone refuels for the final run of the season the following week.

Remember everyone is welcome.

Run 206

It was a beautiful Autumn morning.

I would like to say thanks to Peter who stayed back to record my time. He didn't calculate this right as it meant I just came in under his time by only a few seconds. It is interesting having someone waiting around for you. You feel the need to go harder than normal to try and finish as early as possible. I know if he wasn't there it would have been much slower.

A part from some fierce competition between David and Peter at the finish it was a nice close finish for all with just enough time in between for the timekeeper to look up to see the next runner before having to mark down the time.

Jarrah has taken over 3 minutes off his PB in the last 2 weeks. Congratulations and good luck for the cross country event coming up shortly. Also good luck to Steve who is looking to run in the Geelong half marathon in a few weeks time.

PBs
Jarrah - 1 minute 35 seconds (smashed it as my kids would say)
David D - 15 seconds (I still think he has more in him)

Within 15 seconds of her PB was Lyn D.

Next run is Sunday 6 April 2014 at 7:30am. Remember it is the end of daylight savings.

All new runners are welcome.

Run 205

Sorry for the late update.

The weekend saw another great Warrandyte festival. This meant that we ran on Thursday evening. I always find it harder to run in the evening and with some slower times by all but Jarrah I think a hard day at work followed by a run definitely provides a different test.

Jarrah had a great run finishing well under the 30 minute mark and with a PB of 1 minute 40 seconds. Great work. This meant that Peter took out the win with myself and Steve not too far behind.

This weeks run is on Saturday 29 March 2014 at 7:00am. It will be a little darker than usual, however it will be good to see you there.

Run 204

It was another beautiful morning for running. Welcome to Molly who has joined us for the first time. She proved to fast over the 2k as she had to work out the course. She finished just a head of Heidi over the 2k distance. Great work girls.

For the other distances we saw Alan and Janette cross together. After handicap adjustments Alan managed to break with a PB. This let David take out the win for the morning with a perfectly timed run. David was closely followed by Paul and Jarrah.

There were some great times run as everyone kept the timekeeper on his toes.

PB
Paul K - 1 minute 4 seconds (outstanding)
David D - 1 minute
Lyn D - 13 seconds
Alan - 9 seconds
Jarrah - 7 seconds

Within 15 seconds - Peter

Next run is Thursday 20 March 2014 at 6:00pm due to the festival this weekend.

Everyone is welcome to join us.

Socks go to Alan. Thanks to Heidi who drew the lucky number this week.

Run 203

Another great morning for a run and a large turnout for the start of a long weekend.

Welcome to Tynan who ran with us for the first time this morning. With all the times and adjustments in, as we had a little hiccup with the starting of the clock (I should have gone with Jodi's calculation), we had a great finish with Atsuko breaking after a brilliant sprint to the finish. This left Jozica to finish in first across the line after the 30 minute mark. Peter was very consistent coming in second and Mark followed only a few seconds behind.

There were a number of PBs again this week, so keep running.

Due to festival in two weeks we will look to conduct run 205 on Thursday at 6:00pm if anyone is interested. You can let me know next Saturday and we can confirm in the next newsletter.

PB's
Mark - 32 seconds
Atsuka - 29 seconds
Jozica - 28 seconds
Peter - 6 seconds
Margaret - 5 seconds
Jarrah - 1 second

Alex within 15 seconds.

Next run is Saturday 15 March 2013 at 7:00am.

All new runners and walkers are welcome.

Run 202

A beautiful morning down by the river was experienced by one of our largest number of runners and walkers this season. It was great to see.

The conditions were obviously favourable to a number of participants with a few PBs and a few within 15 seconds.

Firstly I would like to say, welcome to a few new participants this morning with Heidi, David and Lyn joining us for the 2k event and setting a cracking pace for everyone else. Welcome and we hope to see you back next week.

We also saw a number of people stepping up with Mark and Paul completing the 5k run and Margaret completing the 4k run for the second time after her first run at that distance last week.

With everyone set off it was Sam on his bike that crossed the line first. He was followed by Leo and Owen C who had a courageous battle to the finish. They all broke along with Jozica who was chasing them down.

The breakers left the gates open for Jarrah to be our first participant across the line with Margaret and Dennis close behind. This was after adjustment of Jon's time who started early.

Great work by everyone this morning and congratulations to Nada for achieving the 50 run milestone.

PBs
Owen C - 1 minute 34 seconds
Leo - 1 minute 13 seconds
Jozica - 30 seconds
Margaret - 27 seconds

Within 15 seconds - Jarrah, Peter, Dennis

Next run is Saturday 8 March 2014 at 7:00am.

See you all by the river. It is great to see new faces so feel free to bring friends and family.

Rob.

Run 201

Welcome to Jamie who joined us for a run this morning.

It was a mass start due to the Warrandyte Pottery Expo. They have some very nice items if you get the chance to head down.

The conditions were cooler than they have been which allowed for some quick times. After handicaps where included we had a couple of breakers with Alex and Nada coming under the 30 minute mark. This allowed Peter to pick up his second win in as many weeks. He was closely followed by Jozica and Atsuko all of which have been running very well of late.

Well done to Dennis as he competes in the 3 Sunset Series runs on a Wednesday night. He has already completed the Zoo run and Tan with respectable first and second placings in his classification.

Nada's next run will be her 50th great work.

PBs
Alex - 1 minute 9 seconds
Jozica - 14 seconds
Peter - 6 seconds

Atsuko within 15 seconds

Next run is Sunday 2nd February 2014 at 7:30am as it is market weekend.

All new runners welcome and welcome to those just starting with us.

Socks this week go to Jozica.

Run 200

Thank you everyone for coming down this morning. It was a warm morning and we were able to celebrate our 200th run along with providing trophies to our winners from Season 12. Well done to Margaret, Nada, Caitlin and Owen.

Whilst everyone mentioned it was warm this morning it didn't stop PBs being recorded.
The handicap was obviously right this week as Peter took out the win after breaking last week. He had just enough of a lead on Atsuko who came flying down the last 150 metres to finish a very very close second.
Following was our winner and current leader - Margaret.

It was a great turn out and even the 2ker's showed some speed with Miles in first after a 500 mtr dash, Marianne our first 2ker and Lewis coming in third.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and see you all next week.

PBs
Marianne - 23 seconds
Peter - 9 seconds
Margaret - equal

Alex within 15 seconds
Atsuko within 15 seconds

Next run is Saturday 22nd February 2014 at 7:00am.

Keep on running.

Socks this week go to Jon.

Run 199

I hope all are safe and well after the events on Sunday.

Saturday saw a good number of participants with Peter just holding out Atsuko. I had my pen hovering not knowing who was going to cross first. Unfortunately both blitzed it home and broke by finishing under the 30 min mark. This meant Jozica had a well deserved win after finishing the 12k event at Run Warrandyte the week before. Nada was ever consistent and finished 2nd with newcomer Mark finishing 3rd after increasing to the 4k course.

Jarrah took out honours for the 2k run. Well done.

It was good to see everyone out and I hope you can all join us this weekend as we celebrate our 200th run and we present to the winners of last seasons.

Also a well done to Alex who completed his 50th run this week.

PBs
Jozica - 27 seconds
Peter - 18 seconds

Barbara - within 15 seconds

Next run is on Saturday 15 February 2014 at 7:00am.

All are welcome to join us for a fun morning of running.

Run 198

Sorry about last weeks blog update. The figures were added, however it has been a hectic week.

Run 197 saw Mark our newest member take out line honours just ahead of Peter and Jozica. Welcome Mark, we hope to see you back soon.

A smaller crowd this week as everyone enjoys the Aussie day long weekend. We were a little late getting started so a mass start was agreed to. After the inclusion of handicaps Margaret took out the win after Olie broke. Both making it look easy. With smaller numbers everyone picked up additional points. Nada came in second sporting her new Run Warrandyte T-Shirt. I still think she should get extra points for this. (Okay maybe I am little biased). The shirts look great so don't forget to purchase when entering for the event next Sunday. Paul rounded out the top three this morning.

PB's
Olie - 4 minutes 8 seconds

Within 15 seconds
Margaret

Due to the markets on Saturday and Run Warrandyte on Sunday there will not be run next week.

Next run will be Saturday 8 February 2014 at 7:00am.

All new runners and walkers are welcome.

Run 196

Another good turn out this morning and a welcome to Daniel who joined us for his first run with the group.

It seemed to be mild conditions, however the more you ran the warmer you got. This didn't deter a few who picked up PBs for the morning. Great work.

This weeks win was taken out by Margaret, who timed the run to perfection finishing closest to 30 minutes without going under. She was closely followed by Paul and then Atsuko. This was all possible as Dennis and Daniel broke. Daniel will receive a handicap based on this run for his next outing.

It was also good to see Marianne and Lincoln back out with us after a short break.

I have done the latest handicap adjustments which will take effect after next weeks run. This provides an adjustment for those of us that have not run a PB in the last 6 months. You need to have run though to receive an adjustment.

PBs
Dennis - 41 seconds
Margaret - 15 seconds
Paul K - 8 seconds

Next run is Saturday 18 January 2014 at 7:00am.

All new runners and walkers are welcome.

Don't forget to register for Run Warrandyte as it is only a few weeks away on Sunday 2 February 2014.

Socks this week go to Janette. We may need to discuss this.

Run 195

Well, after all the adjustments of times yours truly ended up with a win after Dennis and Olie ran under the 30 minute mark.

It was great to see a few people back at the run after some time away. Both Janette and Alan came for a very relaxed 5k run after finishing 366 consecutive marathon runs that took them around Australia. All this on a raw vegan diet.

We also saw Dennis back after some time off. He blitzed the course with a new PB.

The day also saw Margaret and Paul placing in 2nd and 3rd, with Lewis and Miles completing the full 2k course. Well done.

PBs
Dennis - 1 minute 9 seconds

Within 15 seconds
Margaret and Janette

Next run is Saturday 11 January 2014 at 7:00am.

All new starters welcome.
