Run 686

There were five starters in the run along the banks of the Birrarung/Yarra this week. Thanks once more to Nada for running early and then doing the time-keeping duties for the group.

Paul chose to walk  the 2 km distance which is not part of the main handicapped run. In the longer distances, it was Dave who took out the honours again this week, ahead of Atsuko. Nada managed third place and Harrison was the last runner over the line.

One runner managed a personal best time this week: well done on taking another 4 seconds off your PB, Dave. Nobody else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Next week the run will be on Sunday 6 October with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Runs 683, 684 and 685

Run 683

This was the first run of Season 45 for the Warrandyte River Runners and saw five runners starting in the run. Thanks to Nada for running early and then doing the time-keeping duties for us this week.

Monica was the first runner over the line in a very well-timed run coming in just after the 30 minute mark. Dave ran well into second place with Paul in third this week. Atsuko was the fourth-placed runner and Nada was the final person over the line.

There were no personal best times recorded, but Dave did run within 15 seconds of his PB.

Run 684

There were four starters in the run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra this week and we thank Atsuko for doing the time-keeping duties for us.

Jon was the first runner over the line, but came in before the 30 minute mark and is therefore considered a breaker this week. That left the win open to Atsuko, who came in just ahead of Tony who returned to the group. Harrison was the final runner in this week.

There was one personal best time recorded this week: Congratulations to Jon for taking 27 seconds off his previous 3 km PB. Nobody else was within 15 seconds of their PB.

Run 685

There were ten starters in the run this morning, which means we were able to have a "sock draw" where the random number drawn this week was 8 so the eighth person on the list will receive a new pair of socks next week - congratulations Paul. Thanks to Colin for coming along this week to do the time-keeping for the group.

Dave was the first runner over the line coming in only seconds ahead of Jon with Tony in third place behind them. Harrison managed a strong finish to come in fourth ahead of Nada. James was the sixth person over the line just ahead of Atsuko. Paul managed eighth position and Adrienne and Jozica were the last runners home today.

There were no personal best times recorded today, but two people were within 15 seconds of their PB: congratulations to Dave and Jon.

The full details of the last few runs are available in the links below.

We announced the winners and runners-up of Season 44 this morning and congratulated Harrison on being the winner in the Junior section (in his last season as a junior). In the Open section, the winner of Season 44 was Nada with 146 points from 13 runs in the season, winning on six occasions. The runner up was Atsuko with 113 points from 16 runs (out of a total of 18 for the season), winning on five occasions.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 28 September with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
