Run 675 and 676

Run 675

There were five starters in the run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra this weekend and we once again thank Colin for coming along to do the time-keeping duties.

First over the line this week was Atsuko, who came in just 4 seconds ahead of Nada in a thrilling finish. Dave took out third place only seconds behind them. Harrison was the fourth runner over the line and Jozica rounded out the field this week.

Nobody managed a personal best time this week and no one was within 15 seconds of their PB.

We congratulated Harrison on making it to 100 runs with the River Runners and Jozica for coming along an amazing 300 times. Well done to both runners.

Run 676

With only four runners in the competition this week there were lots of points up for grabs. Thanks once again to our resident time-keeper Colin for braving the elements and coming down to start us off at our allocated handicap times and record the finishing times for each runner.

This week the run was won by Nada who ran in ahead of Atsuko in second place. Paul took out third position and Jozica was the final runner over the line.

There were no personal best times recorded this week, but Nada did manage to run within 15 seconds of her PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 27 July with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.

Run 674

There were only three starters in the run along the banks of the Birrarung-Yarra this morning with one person running each of 3, 4 and 5 km distances. Thanks to Colin for coming along to do the time-keeping duties this week. I have adjusted Nada's distance for last week as she ran 4 km (not the 5 km distance I had registered her for). That gave her the win last week rather than a break.

Nada was the first runner over the line again this week after running 4 km, but she came in just 4 seconds before the 30 minute mark and so did break today. That left the win open for Jozica running the 5 km distance, with Paul (who ran 3 km) only 7 seconds behind her in second place.

Nada managed to take 34 seconds off her previous 4 km personal best time (from last week), but nobody else managed a PB.

Next week the run will be on Saturday 13 July with the timer starting at 7:30 am.

New runners and/or walkers are welcome at any stage during the season.
